CH 6 - Accidents Happen
There was this little thing in the back of my head, wishing me to make Lewis proud. Probably because he had a degree on chemistry or it was just because I didn't wanted to act like I'm not smart.
But who am I kidding?! I don't believe in wishes... I'm going to have a chance on making Lewis proud.
We all sat in high red stools, our hands leaning against the table. And as usual, I sat with this really smarter person called Skyla. And your maybe asking... why 'smarter' not smart? Well... she wasn't typically 'Piper personality'. She was rather loud, makes weird relevant jokes on the Yogscast and basically was awesome. She was part of the fan club, but knew me so little.
"So today class... we are going to complete a practical experiment for your GCSE's." The teacher announced and almost everyone groaned. "I know you don't want to repeat it but you have to perfect it to pass a grade of C or B. You never know, you can get an A for this."
Then Paige raised her hand and spoke, "Sir, I agree with what you're talking about. And I'm sure the whole class will try and perfect it."
"Of course Miss Reynolds," Mr. Clarks answered, but seemed less intrigued about it. After a list of instructions, we set of preparing our chemistry experiment.
Skyla and I were already ready, with lab goggles on: pretty much like Duncan's Minecraft goggles. Tucking our stools under the table, I got my paper out with pen.
"Okay Skyla," I told her. "Let 'em blow!" Skyla then picked two different test tubes full of chemicals. One was blue and the other was pink.
"But Cat, which one do I pick to put into the Hydrochloric acid? The pink or the blue?"Skyla held both and I bit my lip in confusion.
"I don't know... I forgot," I told her and out of nowhere: Paige came towards us. Smile on her pretty stupid face.
"How can you not know which one?" Paige spoke as she snatched the blue liquid from Skyla's hands. "It's this one..."
And right before she put it, I looked back at the instructions to say to put the pink liquid... not the blue one!
"Paige wait..." But I was too late. As the two mixtures were mixed: it started to bubble... really badly! Gas became flowing out and the three of us backed away. Almost the whole class were looking at us, the teacher stopping from his tracks. He went up to us and glared.
"Who did this?" He asked.
Paige popped in and said, "It was Cat sir; she wasn't following the rules and thought to put the blue one in. But I came to the rescue to tell them but I was too late."
I really wanted to punch that b*tch's face right now...
"It's not Cathy's fault sir," Skyla stepped forward and my head spins from confusion.
"Skyla..." Then she interrupted me.
"It's alright Cat, it was my fault: I didn't know." As she apologised, Mr Clarks folded his arms and looked back at Paige.
"Miss Reynolds, later I want to speak to you later at my office."He spoke. "And Skyla, you will be having a lunch time detention today. And Cathy..." Turning his head round to me, he looked down at me and gave me a simple look.
"Yes sir," I answered.
"I know it isn't your fault but I want you to be held up for just a couple of minutes after lesson to clean this mess." After he finished and left us, Paige went stomping away and left the two of us cleaning our experiment. So much for our grades...
