CH 11 – Livestreams
When the first of December came, I felt almost relaxed and calm as I woke up from my bed. It had been cold and frosty morning, though the sun was still up. I liked to snuggle in my bed for a few minutes – flicking through messages – until someone had to shout for my name across the hallway.
And someone...I meant my sister.
Ellie had more enthusiasm with what was going to happen this month. Not only because it was the beginning of the Christmas Advent calendar (Kim decided to give Ellie and I one of those Chocolate Advent calendars each), but something that all the Yogscast do to raise charity over the holidays.
I never spent Christmas for all my life, so it would be my first Christmas. Even Ellie, I believe, never gotten the spirit of the holidays when she was at the orphanage. Gladly Lewis and Hannah are going to give her the best Christmas she deserves - and that matters deeply to me: my sister's happiness.
Though, having Ellie scream that it was the first day of the Livestreams was a little annoying. I knew it was the Livestreams since I hear all the time from my friends.
"Cat! Guess what?" Ellie barged into my room, still wearing her pyjamas on. "It's the first day of Livestreams!"
I groaned and tried to flip my pillow so it could cover up her cries of joy. "God Ellie! Turn it down! I'm trying to have a calm morning since the rest of the day I'll be having everyone at school talking about the Livestreams tonight."
"Oh."I looked and saw Ellie sheepishly standing. "Well, do ask Toby later if he wants to join one of the nights. Martyn asked dad a few days back, but Toby was busy with exams."
I nodded and replied that I will ask Toby on the way, but once she was done I told her to go since I was going to get ready for school. It was an ordinary Monday, so I clearly not that awake from the weekend after another night out with Toby after his exams.
I could say that we are dating...but I'm not sure to Toby that he wanted us to be official. We had a few dates in November, though we both never tried to do anything but a hug or holding hands. He was sweet and funny; Toby was someone I could easily talk to that won't tell a soul about my embarrassments.
Anyways, I got out of my warm cocoon of my duvet and did my normal routine getting ready. Mum and Dad were rushing about trying to get us ready whilst being prepared for a busy day at the office. I heard that Mum had been receiving mail from – not only from Mum's mum – but fans that sent things for her Christmas Advent. Ellie was delighted a week back that Mum asked her to be in one of the videos with her.
Once I got into the kitchen, I immediately ate my breakfast so I could help Dad with the box of Christmas props we gathered at car boot sales. We were going to help decorate the office for the festivities so it won't be boring ordinary scenery whenever we go there. Simon was very happy when we got him the stuff toy Corgi with the Santa Claus outfit on.
"Thank you, Cat." Dad said when we finished putting all the boxes in the car. "I don't know what gave me the idea of collecting these, but we might as well get the office not look a complete shit mess all the time with boxes and Jaffa Cakes."
I smiled back once we returned up to the apartment. When we got there, we found Mum and Ellie finish cleaning the place. All of us were going back later at five to have dinner and get prepared, but we might as well clean it since we won't be using the place for most of the time.
"Okay the apartments clean, we all got our stuff." Mum ticked her imaginary list as Ellie and I tied our shoelaces.
Dad then responded, "Alright then we best be off; we need to still drop Ellie off. Is Toby coming round today?"
