It all started that one summer...
Chapter 19 - I don't know what I want, I just know I want him.
Katie
We both slept the entire plane ride to Madrid. My head on Isco’s shoulder and his hand and mine. The fight attendant had to wake us up from our deep sleep. Once we were out in the airport we had an hour and a half to kill. We walked around the airport making jokes and really not wanting to leave.
“Katie, I’m going to the bathroom,” Isco said stopping in front of one of the food stands in the airport.
“I’ll wait for you here.” I said then he kissed my cheek and walked towards the bathroom.
It was in this short period of time alone that I started to really miss my family. I hadn’t thought about them much and when I made the plan with isco about our future I forgot all about my family. I didn’t include my mother and sister into the whole thing and I should have. I’ve been a family girl my whole life. I would tell my friends that I can’t go out just to spend time with my family, they are best friends and I was now scared of living really far away from them.
“I’m back,” Isco said and his hand was quickly with mine as if it never left. I looked up at him and quickly noticed it something had changed.
“You changed your shirt.” I said quickly noticing the Malaga crest now on his chest.
“had to,” He said and we walked over to get some food. I kept looking at his shirt the entire time. I still couldn’t believe it but just looking at him made me forget everything.
When we had to say goodbye in Madrid, I tried my best to keep myself together. I really hated those girls that cry a lot when their boyfriends leave, or when they leave their boyfriends. I knew Isco is not officially my boyfriend, but he it felt like it. I knew we’ll be together soon, well not soon enough as I would hope. I look up at him and smile. I love his brown hair and eyes. He shaved this morning but he looked perfect anyway. I know I was going to miss his smile most of all, it’s one of my favorite things about him.
“So, it’s almost time we go our separate ways.” I said pointing out the obvious.
“I don’t want to,” He said hugging me and pushing my hair back.
“But they are about to call my flight.” I said with a shy smile and bit my lip. I wanted to kiss him, but I just didn’t have the guts to do it.
“Are you going to keep reminding me? “Isco said laughing and squeezed my hand.
“Yes,” I said biting my lip again. “I didn’t tell you this last time, but I am not good with goodbyes. I try my best to avoid these types of situations.” I looked away from his brown eyes. “You kind of get why the fight happened, saying goodbye scared me.” I started tugging at my sleeves and looking at the floor.
“I’ve got an idea,” Isco said touching my hand to stop me with his other hand he lifted up my face to look at his face. “Let’s forget that night ever happened.” He said and I stood on my toes and pressed my lips against his. The smile on his face after I kissed him made everything better. “You know that people say that if you love something you have to let it go and if it was meant to be, it comes back?” He said and I nodded. “Well, I let you say all those things and leave, now you came back… and I am never letting you go again.” He said putting his arms around me and pressing his body against mine. He held me tightly as if I was his whole world. I held back the happy tears that were building up on my eyes.
“So, this is a see you later?” I said pulling myself away from him to see his face. He nodded and I took that as a yes. “See you later,” I smiled and then looked into his eyes.
“See you later,” He moved his face closer to mine and leaned in to kiss me. It was a simple peck on the lips but my body melted. It was going to be the last kiss in a long time and it was the best one by far. I didn’t feel tired anymore, I felt alive… more like i wanted to run around the whole airport screaming and telling people how happy I was.
“You know, I really love that shirt.” I said leaning my forehead against his chin. I was trying to pull myself together after that amazing kiss.
“Oh, the little Barza girls likes my Malaga shirt?” He said mocking me. His grip around my waist was a strong and it was easy to tell that he wasn’t ready to let me go any time soon. After a few seconds he started to let go of me.
“I love it because of the person wearing it.” I said giving him a wink. I said and started to make my way to my gate. Isco stood there for a moment and then sat on his chair. I knew he had to meet up with his team and how much it meant for him and how excited he was to start the his preseason training. He had to catch up with the rest of the team who has been training for weeks now. I would’ve loved to be there for the next matches, even if he probably won’t play, but I have to go home. My mom and sister miss me and I miss them too.
While I waited for the plane to board, I was listening to music and thinking about the past two weeks. They have been amazing. I spent the entire time with two of the coolest people I could ever meet. Emma and Jess are amazing. When I move to Barcelona I will spend most of the time with them, well… if they want to move in with me. I wouldn’t feel comfortable making this big move alone. Deep down I was hoping they were getting on this plane with me, but I was happy to go see my family.
