One More Day

"All right. Break time is over." Kakashi informed the girls, Temari and Sakura, who were sitting on the grass. "Hey, Kakashi-Sensei where is Naruto and (y/n)?" Sakura asked. Kakashi pointed up "right up there."

"Huh?"

Naruto and (y/n) were up on a tree. (Y/n) was sitting while Naruto was standing, ready to go. "Hey sis, how about as Sakura and Temari are resting we stay up here and be prepared, eh?" Naruto whispered to his sister. "Sure, but Naruto." (Y/n) said, looking at her brother "yeah?" (Y/n)'s stomach grumbled. "Did you pack any food?" Naruto punched (y/n)'s shoulder "ouch, what was that for?!!!" (Y/n) yelled, standing up, her hair forming nine-tails. "You're getting it this time, ya know!!!!"

"Kids, calm down." Kakashi told the twins. (Y/n) took her pan out. "Sorry sis, I didn't mean it? I only punched you thats it!" (Y/n) lashed out her pan, and punched Naruto's cheek. "It feels like I'm taking care of toddlers with those two.." Kakashi thought, sighing. "These two get mad at each other for the stupidest reasons..."

(Y/n) stood up. "One more day until we reach the Sand Village, ya know.." (y/n) told Naruto. "Yeah, we have to hurry." Kakashi and the girls were ready to leave. "OK, let's get moving."

"Ahh ochoo!" Lady Tsunade sneezed. "Lady Tsunade, are you alright? Shizune asked. "I'm fine." Shizune put a cup on her desk and a teapot. "There is a very bad cold going around the village. You really should be careful." Shizune told her. "I will."

"Team Kakashi left two days ago. If all goes well, they should be there tomorrow morning." Tsunade thought, as she was about to get a sip of her green tea, her cup suddenly cracked. Tsunade gasped "that's a bad sign." The blonde Hokage was startled, "don't tell me." She opened one of her drawers. Getting a ticket.

"Group three, number 117037. I knew it. I won and first prize, too. Definitely a bad omen." Tsunade thought. "Shizune, Shizune, get in here!"

"All right! We've finally reached the desert." Naruto said. "The Village Hidden in the Sand is just up ahead. It's best if I take the lead from here on out." Kakashi agreed. "Lead on."

"Lady Tsunade, did you call me?" Shizune asked. "Yes." Tsunade replied, looking back. "We have to send reinforcements to the Sand Village at once." Shizune looked confused "reinforcements?"

"There is one team that must be done with their mission by now. They'll be on their way back." Tsunade explained. "Oh, do you mean-ah, yes milady, I'll see to it!" Shizune then walked out of Tsunade's office. "We have to be ready for the worst case scenario." Tsunade said, looking down at the small ticket.

"Lady Tsunade! You were right. They're back from their mission!" Shizune said happily, as she walked into Tsunade's office. "Excellent." The two walked out of the office to meet the group "Wait, Lady Tsunade!" Shizune said, as the hokage walked into a room. "I've got an S-rank mission for this squad." She informed the group, until she realized. It was Konohamaru's squad. "Really?" Konohamaru said keeping the story short, Lady Tsunade cleared up the misinformation "Wrong room, milady."

"I'm assigning you essentially the same mission as Team Kakashi. Get to the Sand Village as fast as possible and provide any support necessary. Is that clear?" Tsunade told the group. "Crystal!" Gai said, giving a thumbs up. "Ready, Lady Tsunade." Rock Lee informed her, as well as TenTen and, Neji. "Team Gai is always ready for action!" Gai said, then sneezing.  "You've got a cold?"Lady Tsunade asked. "No, no just my allergies acting up. That's all." Gai replied, chuckling. "Don't worry, we'll make it to the sand in one day."

"I think we can make it half a day! Sensei!" Lee said. Neji and TenTen looked at the two sternly. "It will take three days, no matter how you slice it." Neji told the two. "Yeah, what's the point in making promises we can't keep, huh?" TenTen said. "We won't know it until we try, will we? Forward everyone, with the speed of youth!" Gai informed the team "lead on, Sensei!" Lee said, running along with Gai.

"So embarrassing." TenTen said. "They are who they are, TenTen." Neji replied. "They're still as enthusiastic as ever, I see." Tsunade stated. Shizune laughed.

"I haven't seen (y/n) and Naruto in a long time." Lee thought. "I'm curious to see how much Naruto and (y/n) changed." Lee said. "Same here." TenTen agreed.

Team Kakashi, and Temari sat down under a rock, shielding them from the heavy sand storm. "We got this close to our target, and we're just sitting here!!" Naruto said.  (Y/n) was pacing around the small space. "I can't stand this waiting, ya know!!" Kakashi put a hold on the two. "For the last time kids, relax. There's nothing we can do."

"I know but-" the two said until they were cut off by Sakura. "Just be patient. Would you look at Temari? She's the one who's worried the most."

"The cardinal rule of traveling in the desert. If you hit a sand storm, you must stay put. You lose all your sense of direction in a storm like that. I've heard of many cases of people who ended up lost in the desert, and dying of thirst." Temari explained. "Don't worry, the sandstorms we get this time of year usually don't last as long."

Kakashi took his hands off the twins shoulders - (y/n) continued pacing. Kakashi took hold of the redhead, again. "Well, I just hope you're right." (Y/n) said.

Kankuro was now somewhat roaring in pain. The medical nin's kept him down. "Quick, a sedative!"

Lady Chiyo and Lord Ebizo could only watch Kankuro suffer. "As you can see, all we're able to do is ease his pain, and try to help him rest. At this stage our only hope is the squad of Leaf Shinobi, who are due to arrive tomorrow... That is, if only Kankuro can survive until then. And if they brought an experience poison specialist along with them."

"Relying on the leaf is pathetic." Lady Chiyo said, walking out with her brother.

The sand storm seemed to cleared up, and Temari and Team Kakashi were running. (Y/n) who was the fastest in the group and Naruto on her back, piggybacks are fun, ya know?

"(Y/n) slow down!!" Naruto yelled, his upper body was dangling, his face connecting with the sand.

"Look, over there!" One of the guards said. "I'm choking on sand, sis!!!"

"We've been expecting you! Lady Temari, were you with them?"  A guard asked. "Come, please this way."

(Y/n) put Naruto down. And sweatdropped. "Heuh, sorry bro." Naruto looked at her. And began chasing (y/n) to the entrance. "These two I swear.." Kakashi sighed.
