26: Takes Time

I was in shock when Alicia and August told me what happened. I still can't believe Ra'Niq would do something like that after all these years of friendship. But one thing I do have to say is that I'm very proud of August, not only did he expose Niq for the type of person she is but he's proven that he has grown up and ready to settle down with one woman, Alicia. I invited Trey Songz, my new boo, to come and help me talk some damn sense into Alicia. I mean everybody know that they love each other and August is more than willing to be with her, it's just Alicia is in the way of her own happiness. 

She know for a fact that August changed. She even said herself. I don't see what the problem is really. She knows she's not going to be happy until they are back together. But I'm not surprise she's acting like this. She's been hurt many times by men that it ain't funny and left her with major trust issues. That's why she waited so late to loose her viriginty. She use to date this guy De'Von when we were back in highschool. She was so happy with him but he only wanted one thing and when he started to get what she wasn't giving from someone else, it really broke her. Her self-esteem went down the drain because she was willing to do any and everything he asked her. 

I still think she has some kind of feelings for him because she still got that picture of them when they came from the senior prom. She had a huge smile on her face and for a long time she kept that smile hidden. I had never seen her smile like that until she got with August. That's one of the main reasons I want them together. The both give each other a reason to live, love and enjoy life. One can't survive without the other and they both no that.

I feel like I'm in the middle of all this. I'm friends with both of them and I want them together but I'm not sure on how to make that happen because Alicia is stubborn as hell. I hope Trey can talk some sense into her. Trey pulled me into a kiss, making me forget my thoughts.

"You ready?" he said with his lips still close to me.

"Yeah" I said with a smile.

So we went to Alicia's house and she wasn't there, I didn't make a big deal about it until I tried calling that night and I didn't get an answer. She always answers. Trey told me that maybe she was sleep or something, so I had let it go, until three days later when she still wasn't at home and still wasn't answering my calls. Eventually months went by and I really began to loose my mind. I had called August and he said the last he seen her was in two months ago at the club where they first met. So with that information, I called the club and they said she still works there but only the night shift and she was gone on vacation. I was relieved to hear that but how?, was all I could say because it didn't make any sense. She haven't called nor been to her house, so where has she been staying these past months. It took me a minute then I came up with the idea that she's been at her mama's house. 

I called her mom and she said that Alicia has been by there often but she doesn't stay there. I was so confused that I didn't even know what to do. The thought of my best friend being in an unknown place with out even contacting me made me worried and pissed off. This was even affecting my relationship with Trey. I can't please him the way I want to because I'm trying to find my friend. And I know that I probably shouldn't worry and just leave it alone but that's my friend. She'll always come first to me. I'm not like Ra'Niq, I value friendship and I know what Alicia is going through is hard. I just don't want her to do something that we all will regret. She's been so depressed lately that it scares me because I don't want her to hurt herself. I just want to at least hear her voice and make sure she's ok.
