Alicia pov

"Alicia, I see you showing off your new body!" a voice from behind me called out. When I turned around I couldn't believe my eyes. It was my ex, De'Von Willis. I haven't seen him in years and I always said that I would beat his ass if I ever saw him public again and here he is.

I just froze. I didn't expect this at all. Really I thought I had a better chance running into August than him. But I can't lie he has gotten finer. I could jump on him but I know I have Chris in my life now and I'm not trying to create drama.

"Um, hey De'Von. Long time no see." I said a little nervous.

"Don't be talking all shy like you don't know nobody." He said smiling that jaw dropping smile.

"I'm not acting all shy. I just wasn't expecting to see you." I sounded almost like a little girl.

"Did you miss me?" He said licking the side of his lips. I can't believe he remembered how to do that.

"No Not really." I said sounding cocky.

"Oh so another nigga cuffed, Huh?" He lifted an eyebrow.

"Yeah." That was all I bring myself to say, thinking bout my relationships.

"I heard that you was kicking it with August Alsina for a while, then it went left and now you Mrs. Brown."

"Well who was telling you my business wasn't lying and I'm not Mrs. Brown just yet honey." I said starting sound a little bitter because one of my friends is running their mouth and worst of all they telling De'Von.

"Chill a lil bit, Licia. I don't mean no harm."

"You don't mean no good either! Why you even worried bout me anyway? When I was with you, you didn't give a shit about me or my feelings and now that I lost all this weight and you see a nigga doing good for herself without yo trifelin' ass, you wanna be in my face!"

For the first time in my life, I stood up for myself to De'Von. I had to let him know that I'm not that same little girl that you can hurt and get away with it.

He grew quiet and people standing by was looking at us waiting for his reaction and some women was clapping and praising me for telling him off.

"Look Lia." Oh lord he calling me by my old nickname. "I never meant to hurt you like I did. We were just kids Lia. I always liked you and you don't have to believe me but it's true."

"I don't believe you because I was like seventeen and was bout to give my mind, body and soul to you but you gone sit there and cheat with my best friend. Nigga please. I put more into that relationship than you did and you know it."

I was about to turn around bout he grabbed my arm with a firm grip.

"Listen Lia, just hear me out this once." I nodded. "From the bottom of my heart, I am sorry. Sorry for treating you like you were anything else but a queen. Sorry for coming in the way of your friendship and most of all I'm sorry for never saying I love you because I do and I'm sorry that it took me losing you before I figured it out."

It was a pause and there were people crying and couples holding eachother close.

"I'm not asking to be in a relationship with you because I know you got a man that can do way more for you than I can. All I want is for us to put this behind us and at least be friends again." As much as I wanted to stay mad, I couldn't. Listening to what he was saying made me think about August. I would still be him right now if it wasn't for my feelings so I learned from that and I accepted De'Von's apology.
