Phil P.O.V

I ordered Dan a big breakfast of sausage and eggs. As he stuffed his face, I  told the doctor and he talked to Dan. He scheduled some appointments, prescribed some painkillers, and blah blah blah.
Then when me and him were finishing breakfast Ellie walked in looking at her phone.
" Hey Phil I wanted to show you something that..." she started then saw Dan, with a mouth full of sausage.
" Oh crap! I forgot to tell you he woke up. Sorry?" I say.
She dropped her phone to the floor and walked over to the bed. Her mouth was opened slightly from shock. She sat on the bed, then hugged Dan tightly.
And then I expected what happened next, she starts to cry. He hugged her back and tried to calm her down.
" Ellie I'm fine. It's gonn-" he started.
" I swear to god if you do something like that again I'm gonna kill you for real." She mumbled into his shirt. He laughed a little.
They were adorable.
We had talked for awhile until a beeping noise began to quicken. We all wiped out heads over to Lillian's bed.
The heart rate and breathing quickened and her eyes were open, she started to scream and fail her arms and she grabbed her head. We all were stuck to our places, stricken with fear. Then she stopped, her eyes closed and her heart beat dropped dramatically. Me and Ellie run over and check in her.
" What the hell happened?!" Screamed Ellie.
" I don't know! How would I kno-" I started then there was a long beep.
Her heart rate was flat. All our eyes widen as we froze in our places. Then out of shear fear, Ellie to the defibrillator off the wall and rubbed the static pads together and slammed them on her chest.
It was silent, then I heard a gasp. Lillian's eyes we're open in and she sat up panting. We all were dead silent, confused and terrified.
I had no words.
Lillian looked at us,then to her chest, then back to is smiling.
" Ok. WHAT THE ACTUAL F**K JUST F**KING HAPPENED?!" Screamed Dan from his bed.
After a moment of staring,  nurses came rushing in after they heard the commotion from down the hall. They rushed me and Ellie out of the room, even Dan. We sat outside listening to the mumbles of the million nurses surrounding Lillian. Doctor Laurence passed through the the room from time to time.
I was so confused.
I had no idea what had happen and nobody told us anything!
After awhile of waiting ( and boredom) Doctor Laurence had come out of the room.
" May I speak to you three in my office?" He asked and we followed him down a hall and into a brightly sunlit office.
" I know you are all probably wondering what happened." He said as we sat at his desk and nodded.
" Well, the screaming and heart rate was part of a delayed response to what happened in surgery. The pain killers had worn off when we had made a insertion, luckily we had given some more after." He continued.
" And the reason her heart stopped was from a small heart tremor. Like a heart attack but a little more intense. Anyway, if you had not pulled out the defibrillator," he said punting to Ellie.
" Your friend wouldn't be here." He sai with a proud smile.
Ellie smiled a little looking at the floor.
He answered a few of our questions about Lillian, then we gladly did thank you and left for our room.
I get to the door and open it for Dan in his wheel chair. We walk in and see Lillian watching one of our videos and eating something I couldn't recognize. Before I could say something she looked up and smiled.
" I missed you too."
