We were upstairs watching War of the Roses, the computer between both of us.
I made a bowl of popcorn and gave her a string cheese.
I started dozing off, I kept opening my eyes to stay awake but it wasn't helping. I fell asleep."Luna?" I heard someone call. I blinked 3 times.
My mom stood over me, I sat up.
"Huh?" I said, yawning a bit.
"Hurry before your late for school." She said softly and left out.
I got up and showered. Hurriedly clothing myself, I almost slipped on my way out the bathroom.
I grabbed my bag off my bedroom floor and noticed the note on my computer.I left after the movie, I'll be early tomorrow so be quick. I'm picking you up after school too.
—NellI grabbed the note and crumbled it. I ran downstairs. Nell was outside waiting patiently.
"Sorry, I'm late." I said. I placed my bag on the floor between my legs.
"It's okay, your not that late." Nell pulled off, and we drove to school.
"Sleep good?" She asked.
I perched up, "Yeah, um, did you?" I was on Facebook, while talking so I just scrolled.
"You look nice." She said as we pulled into the school parking lot.
"Why are you being nice?" I turned to her.
"I can't be nice?" Nell chuckled.
I rolled my eyes, "Nell, you're never nice, especially not to me. Flirty, yes, but never nice."
"Just accept the compliment and go to school." She sighed.
"Fine, thank you." I got out of the car and began walking to the school.
"Luna! " Nell called after me. I stopped and turned around, people looking at me and her.
"After school, remember?!" She yelled, and I nodded.
I walked inside of the school, prepared for my torture.***
At lunch I sat alone with Nell. Usually it would be Nell, Tommie, and I, sometimes even Nell's followers. Not today though.
Nell and I sat side by side alone, everyone occasionally looking in our direction.
"Do you have a favorite color?" I heard Nell spoke up. I looked up at her.
"Uh yeah, maroon." I paused, "what's yours?"
"Blue." She said. I nodded.
"Can I give you a nickname?" She asked, smiling.
"Um, no." I ate the rest of my fruit roll up.
"Ima call you boochie." Nell leaned away, looking accomplished.
"Call me what?? No the hell you're not." I scrunched my face in disgust.
"Yeah yeah my boochie butt." She laughed.
"No. N-O."I almost forgot my manners.
She started getting up, and right after the bell rung I heard "I'll see you later boochie."
I got irritated instantly.
I marched to drama class. After school I trailed to my locker and shoved all my books inside, I saw someone stop beside my locker in my peripheral vision. I closed my locker door. "Oh! Tommie, its you." I sighed in relief.
"So you and Nell, huh?" She sounded upset.
I scoffed, "Me and Nell, what?"I scrunched my eyebrow up in confusion.
"Don't play stupid, I thought we were friends!" Tommie stomped.
"Okay, first off, you only hung out with me because Nell was your girlfriend. Second, there is no 'me and Nell'. Nell is single. So am I."
I began to walk away when I got pulled back, "So why is she giving you rides?" Tommie asked.
"She offered. And I'm super lazy, even I don't feel like walking sometimes." I walked away.
I sat on the stairs in front of the school going through my bag for my phone. It was later and people were barely even there.
I heard footsteps, "Luna?" A scruffy voice said.
In front of me was a boy, in his eyes, he had mischief and his posture told me to run. But since my mind doesn't listen. I sat there.
"Yeahhh?" I frowned. I hadn't seen this boy before, anywhere.
"Aren't you Nell's girlfriend?" The boy stepped closer, once again, my body said run. My head did not listen.
"No. I'm not dating anyone." I stuck my hand in my purse.
"Oh so, you have nobody?" He stood on the stair in front of me.
"I don't think I'd say that." I nodded.
I began to notice the empty parking lot, and my stomach dropped.
"I have to go." I stood up and then I was grabbed. He pulled me into the bushes on the side and pinned me down, and covered my mouth.
"This'll just be quick." I heard before I passed out.It was so dark. My body hurt and I could feel myself sobbing. It was a sharp pain that kept shooting though my left side, it was unbearable. I kept trying to move but I felt so helpless. I saw a car drive pass and stop when it saw me. I just kept sobbing. It was Nell. Who had been looking for me and couldn't find me at all.
My pants were down, the boy didn't even have the common courtesy to pull them back up.
"Who did this to you?" She asked and all I could do is sob. She picked me up and carried me into her car. As I was silently drove home, I felt Nell caress my hair. I cried the whole ride home.
Nell carried me to my house, she knocked on my door, with me in her arms.
My dad opened it quickly. As soon as he looked at me, I could tell he knew. He took me from Nell, invited her in and carried me to my bathroom. Then, he called for my mother.
"My baby!" She cried and she pulled me into her lap. My body was sore, my head felt like an overused punching bag and my hoo-ha felt terrible. All that went through my mind was 'you should've ran' that only made me cry harder.
