"Is this a thing now?" Miranda asked gesturing to the cigarette I was smoking.
"Just a show girl." I said as we walked to the side of the school, ignoring all the stares I was getting. Well this is the first time I walked out of Ethan's car this morning and had a cigarette in my mouth so obviously people's jaws would be dropping but I didn't care.
"Temporary right?" she asked for the third time today.
"Yes Miranda! It's not like I'm going to get hooked to this thing." I said snapping at her, getting really annoyed.
"Sorry...just asking because you said that the last time." She said looking at the people who passed us.
"Sorry..." I said feeling bad for snapping at her.
I know she's worried but there is really nothing to worry about I mean it's lunch and this is my second one today? I think.
"Who you taking to homecoming?" I asked changing the subject.
Her face immediately lit up from that word. "Some guy." She said blushing.
"Some guy huh," I said wiggling my eyebrows.
"Shut it nerd...it's Marcus." She teased then blushed again.
"Marcus...the guy from Spanish class? He's cute." I said dropping the cigarette and crushing it.
"I know right...we've been talking for a while now." She said smiling.
"Do you like him?" I asked adjusting my glasses. Today I decided to just wear a jacket, jeans and converse. I know lazy and no effort needed but its school so I really didn't care.
"Yeah." Miranda said looking at the ground, her smile grew at she just said.
"Yeah...I like Marcus Sanders." She said looking at me.
"And he's my date to homecoming!" she said pulling me in for a hug. I laughed and hugged her back, I was glad my best friend was going to homecoming with someone she likes.
"We're going shopping on Saturday don't forget, we need dresses." She said letting go.
"Ugh...I'm sure my mom has something." I groaned at thought of going shopping two Saturday's in a row.
"Yeah if you want to come dressed as a doctor then sure." She said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes and gave in.
"I can't wait! Plus your date is Carter freaking Halls so you guys will be the couple to beat." She said winking at me.
"Beat in what?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
"Homecoming king and queen!" she said in a duh tone.
"I don't know-"
"Don't worry I nominated you and plus 'Them' are nominated too!" she said with a smirk.
"All of them?" I asked with wide eyes.
"Yup." Miranda said popping at the'P'
"I don't think Blake will come he probably thinks homecoming is crap, Aidan will probably be his goofy self..." I said sighing.
"Haha remember last year when we took a picture then he dumped a bucket of fish oil on you!" Miranda said laughing hysterically.
"Yeah...I hugged Jennifer and Kelly so tight they almost fainted from the smell!" I said laughing with her.
