Chapter Twenty: You're Cousins?!

You're Cousins?!

"No Melissa the photo booth is supposed to go there!" Jennifer whined as she scowled at Melissa.

"But the guys already put it by the entrance." Melissa said pointing to a bunch of jocks that were forced to help out.

"Well tell them to move it!" Jennifer yelled as she ran a hand through her long brunette hair. Melissa scurried away to the jocks that were getting annoyed. She stroked her boyfriend's arm, Nick who was getting pissed at Jennifer's moods.

"There you are!" Jennifer said in bitter tone as she stared at me.

"I don't know why daddy couldn't suspend you, I mean you're useless." Kelly said as she stood next to Jennifer. Kelly folded her arms and stared at me. Her curly blonde hair swayed as she talked.

"I don't want to be here either so let's just get this over and done with." I said rolling my eyes.

"What must I do?" I asked throwing my hands up in exasperation.

"Sweep," Jennifer commanded. Kelly held out a broomstick and they both had grins on their faces.

"Why do I get a crap job?" I muttered while folding my arms.

"Because we're in charge Willson and you'll do as we say or do you really want a suspension?" Jennifer mimicked as she took a step closer to me.

"But why sweep? We goanna dirty this place anyway." I mumbled looking around at the big gym. Reason being they didn't choose a venue is they want to save the money for prom so they can go all out. It doesn't make sense, Jennifer is rich, and why couldn't she just fund it?

"Because it's a 'Starlight Fairy tale' theme and everything has to be perfect. We need to transform this ratty old gym into a night to remember. The confetti and beautiful music when the homecoming king and queen which will obviously be me and-"

"You? It will be me and-"

"Would you both please shut up!" I nagged cutting of Jennifer and Kelly from their argument. They glared at each other then turned to me.

"Who's your date loser?" Kelly demanded.

"You'll just have to wait and see." I smirked thinking of Carter. Miranda and the guys wanted to wait for me but I didn't know what Jennifer might put me through so I said they should go.

"I bet you she's going with that loser Josh." Kelly laughed. I rolled my eyes as I grabbed the broomstick and walked to the other side of the gym.

Jennifer and Kelly literally went over board. I had to sweep, set up, lay the tables, decorate and Jennifer even had a rehearsal of when she 'wins' homecoming queen. Kelly and her fought as they played with the crown and they almost fell off the stage, I wish I were recording it.

I looked at my watch seeing it was 4pm. I walked out the school building and got ready for a long walk home.

"Need a ride?" a familiar voice asked behind me. I turned around to see Blake Gunner leaning against his motorcycle. He had a cigarette between his lips as he stared at me.

"Admiring my beauty?" Blake smirked as I walked closer to him. I rolled my eyes as I watched him get on the bike; he scooted to the front for me to sit in which I did.

"Aren't you supposed to be at the diner with everyone else?" I asked looking at him suspiciously. He didn't start the motorcycle yet but instead put his hands on his lap. He threw the cigarette to the grown, crushing it in the process.
