Boxes and Boxes
"Tell my mom I love her if I do not make it,"
"Do not make it."
"Got so many chains they call Chaining Tatum,"
"They do, they do."
"And I like to finish what you think you started." They belted out Drake's 'Pop Style' causing me to roll my eyes.
I decreased the volume causing everyone to throw profanities throughout the car. I anxiously licked my lips as I focused on the road.
"Can we just drive in peace?" I questioned looking at Carter who sat in the passenger seat.
Carter snickered as he spun around to face the guys. Today I decided to give everyone a lift. Since Carter lives five minutes away from me I got him first then Aidan, Liam, and Benny.
"How was your weekend?" Benny asked as he leaned forward so he could get a better look at me.
I bit my lip as I placed my hand on my thigh. When Blake dropped me off Saturday night I was expecting mom and dad to question me. But as soon as they heard Axel's name they were utterly fine with it.
It confused me when dad would be all-protective when the guys are around but when Axel comes into my house he is suddenly treated like a long lost son.
"LANA!"
I blinked quickly as Liam yelled out my name, snapping me out of my thoughts. The car swerved as I dodged a guy who was offloading things from his truck.
I kept in a laugh as everyone took sharp breaths, at the corner of my eye I could see them glaring at me.
"Note to self never catch a ride with Lana ever again," Aidan exclaimed causing me to scoff.
"Sorry I was just distracted."
"You never answer my question." Benny piped up. Right now everyone was silent as they waited for an answer.
"Dull like any other weekend, how was the party?" I asked looking at Benny through the rear view mirror.
"It was sick! You should have been there Lana." Liam babbled on as I playfully rolled my eyes.
"Yeah, where were you? We came to get you but your parents said you were out." Carter inquired as he turned to me.
Flashbacks of when Axel threw the bottle against the wall, leading to one of the pieces to slash into my thigh entered my mind. It happened so fast that I didn't even feel the glass enter my skin. Then of Blake wrapping the bandage around my thigh, which was, in fact, awkward.
Putting on a fake smile, I glanced back at the road and spoke.
"I just had a few errands."
"The party was huge! It was killing two birds with one stone. Kelly's birthday party and celebration of another win for Jefferson High's basketball team." Benny chuckled as he high fived Liam.
"Glad that you enjoyed it." I sighed while concentrating on the road.
Looking down to my thigh again, I sighed. I wore sweat pants today because jeans would be too tight and a skirt is too cold. Blake's sweat pants are still at my house.
I haven't heard from him at all since he dropped me at home. I wonder if he went to the party?
Axel, on the other hand, called me. He says he's awfully sorry and he'll take me out to dinner to make up for acting recklessly. He also said we could catch up, whatever that meant.
