Chapter 3

"No offense," Mateo said annoyingly. "But, there was never an us."

"What," Eloisa said angrily. "Don't assume. I did not call to ask you out on a date."

"Alright, alright, sorry," Mateo said. "Why did you call me anyway?"

"Like I said, we need to talk," Eloisa said seriousaly

"About what," Mateo asked.

"About Emma," Eloisa said

"What about her," Mateo asked.

"Let's just talk," Eloisa said. "Go to the Wake Up Coffee Shop Branch near Ferrydell University.

"Do I have to go there," Mateo complained. "It's too far."

"Yes, you have to," Eloisa said.

"Fine," Mateo said. "But you must treat me some coffee."

"Alright, shut up," Eloisa said. "I'll treat you."

"Sure," Mateo said. "I have to go." Eloisa ended the call and she sighed with Mateo's craziness in his attitude.

"Well," Rose asked instantly.

"We have to go," Eloisa said. "We need to go to Wake Up Coffee Shop. Mateo will be there."

Rose appears to have doubts about going to the Coffee shop.

"I miss Emma," Rose said sadly.

"We just saw here this morning," Eloisa retorted.

"I know," Rose said. "It's been months since we've been together. She's the one that usually treats us."

"I know," Eloisa said as she pretends to have courage herself. "We owe her, a lot. That's why we shall do this. The sooner this is over, the sooner she can live in peace." Sabi ni Eloisa.

"Sure," Rose said.

They went to the Coffee Shop and they waited 30 minutes for Mateo. He arrived just in time, after 30 minutes, that is.

"Sorry I took so long," Mateo said. "I was caught in traffic."

'I was caught in traffic' became the most common excuse by Filipinos when it came to being late. The traffic is everywhere and it never goes away, unless a famous boxer is having a fight and it is widely broadcasted.

"That's fine," Eloisa said. "Just take a sit. We have a lot to talk to."

"So what is this all about," Mateo asked as he sat.

"She is sick," Rose said bluntly. "She wants to meet her lover, one last time."

"What can I do to help," Mateo asked. It appears that Mateo is unaffected by what Rose said. He intends to help more than he worries about what is Emma's illness.

"We shall interrogate you," Rose said. "Did you meet Emma at Word Miracle Church?"

"Yes. I did," Mateo answered

"Did you meet her at a wedding," Rose asked.

"No, I met her in a different manner," Mateo answered as he recalls his memory.

I was riding my motorcycle that day. I did not notice that she crossed the streets. I tried to stop my motorcycle, but my motorcycle slightly crashed unto her.

"What kind of driver are you," she said angrily at me when I crashed unto her.

"I'm sorry miss," I said as I remove my helmet. I cannot help but notice that my motorcycle slightly scratched her leg. She did not notice me and instead she continued to pick up her papers
