Shay's POV
A week and five days past since they as in my mom, bros, and step dad, stayed. I sigh to myself in relief knowing that they'll be leaving soon. Tomorrow would be the day when they depart. I came back from school and found that mom was in a bad mood."Shay." She calls madly. Uh oh, what's going on? "Sit down." She motioned me to sit across from her. I sat down slowly. "What are you? An old grandma?! Hurry!" She yells. I flinch but manage to sit on the sofa. Hiro and Sho were next to me, looking a bit guilty. What's going on?
"Well, thanks to your brothers, I managed to get some truth out of you." Mom started. I tilt my head in confusion. "You're dating someone aren't you?" She says and my eyes widen as I turn to look at the guys. "Look at me Shay." Mom demands and I turn my head towards her sadly. "Answer me. It's Ayato, that best friend of yours isn't it?"
"Yeah..." I said hesitantly. Mom goes furious. "Didn't I told you to not date anyone?! You lied to me!" She yelled. "I didn't lied to you mom, I never even told you that I wasn't dating anyone." I looked back at her. "Even if you didn't, you still disobeyed me child!"
"Why?! Why am I not allowed to date?! Hiro and Sho dated back in their high school ages." I shouted back. "Don't raise your voice at me." She demands. "Mom I—"
"Stay out of this." She orders Hiro and Sho when they were trying to defend me. Mom turns her gaze at me again. "I want you to break up with him." She says calmly. "What?" My heart sank. "I-I can't do that." I argued. "I'm not telling you to argue with me. Break up with him." She demands with a firm tone. I flinch. When I didn't say anything back, she added. "You aren't going to do it? You useless—"
"Stop trying to control me!" I shouted as I stood up. "You only want me to break up with him because you think I'll have the same mistake as you did before isn't it?! Because you had your heart broken twice before you met him! It's not fair! Just cause you made that mistake doesn't mean I'll make it. You're my mom, you're suppose to support me."
"You're useless, that's why I—"
"All my life I've tried to make you proud of me but you never saw that. That's why I stayed with grandpa, and also because I didn't wanted him to be alone. Can't you think once?!" I yell as my voice starts going shaky. "Grandpa and Grandma has been my real parents, you don't ever treat me as your daughter. Back then, I've been scared to death about making you proud, not anymore, I'm done." I said as my voice starts calming.
We stared at each other for some seconds then I start walking towards the door. "Are you running away now?" She asks as she follows. I nodded. "If you were really my mother, you would stop me." As I'm bout to leave, Grandpa comes up. "Shay..." He calls with a calm and worried voice. "I'm sorry Grandpa." I apologized then ran out of the house.
I can't do it anymore. Tears ran down my face as I'm walking away from the house. Why? Just why mom?
Ding Dong.
Arisa opens up the door and looked surprised as she saw tears streaming down my face. "Shay...?" She asks and I fell into her arms.
I told Arisa all about what had happened and she listens quietly as she strokes my back while I'm laying on her lap. "I'll have to break up with Ayato-kun." I sat up. "I don't want to do that." Saying with a shaky tone.
"Shay..." Arisa starts. "You have to tell him." I quickly shook my head no. "I can't, I don't want to keep worrying him." I explained. "Shay listen to me. You've got enough problems with your family, and with those haters at school. Ayato-kun is your boyfriend, he's suppose to worry about you. Look, if you go up to him and break up with him without telling him any explanation, that'll definitely hurt him. You need to be open about things. Stop holding back."
I hesitated but ended up nodding. It was time to tell Ayato all about this. "Good. Now come on, wipe those tears off and meet up with him." Arisa smiles as she wipes my tears. "Now?" I ask and Arisa nods. "Okay." I replied.

"Shay?" Ayato says as he looks back when I arrived. His face was showed worrisome. "Is everything okay? You look like you just cried." He says. He so know me. "We, um...we need to talk." I started. "Don't tell, you're about to break up?" He says with my voice of words as his face scrunches up.
My eyes starts stinging. "No, no of course not. Never." I said avoiding his gaze, having a horse voice. Ayato opens up his arms and pulled me into them as I start crying again. "Tell me what's wrong." He demands but with a soft calm voice unlike mom.
I sniff. "Mom wants us to break up...she found out about it." I started, Ayato just listens. "Of course, I don't ever want that to happen. And...your exs..."
"What about them?" He asks. "They've been...threatening me, not Yui-senpai of course but...Hana, for example." After saying that, Ayato tightens his grip. "You...when did this started?" He asks. "Um, since we started dating." I replied hesitantly. Ayato sighs. "Guess you just didn't wanted to worry me huh? I know you. Sorry, I should've know. I'll do something about it. Now about your mother, what are you going to do." He asks as he starts fulling away, looking into my eyes.
"What's there to do? I don't know what to do." I confessed. "Confront her." He says. "I did that, she didn't listen." I said looking away from him. "Then do it again, until she listens. This is our relationship we're talking about."
After some seconds, I gave a slight nod. "Let's do it together, so she knows we're serious." Ayato nods understanding.
