When my shift was over, I had to leave Ayato, neither of us wanted that but it couldn't be done. That's when I went back to Arisa and Tsubaki and told them everything that had happened, including the part when I decided to stay over with Ayato-kun. Their eyes widened at first and gasped in horror, thinking all these sorts of negative thoughts. I mean who could blame them? That's what I was thinking in the first place too. But they decided that it was fine anyways because they trust me and that Arisa would just make an excuse to her parents that I'm sleeping over with another friend, not that it was actually a lie, Ayato is my best friend.

It was a good thing that Ayato's father and his people doesn't know how I look like or else I would be dead, especially after serving them as maids. I couldn't let my name tag show either so I went to make up an excuse to boss if I could take it off. Good thing she's not as strict as some bosses may had been, phew.

After that whole exhausting long night, it was already twelve when we finished cleaning up. After changing out of our maid clothes, I say my goodbyes to Arisa and Tsubaki and headed up to Ayato's room.

I had a spare room key so I got to go in without knocking, who knows if he's sleeping right now. When I went in, sure enough, Ayato was in bed sleeping soundlessly. Well, it's been a long day for him so I don't blame him. Scoffing, I place my stuff down on a chair and laid on the bed tirelessly. And before long, I find myself drifting to sleep.

Ayato's POV

I woke up from the bright sunlight shinning down at me. I groan, not wanting to wake up but since the sun has already woken me up, I can't just fall asleep like that easily again. Twisting my self around, I'm suddenly stopped halfway by a body. Looking over, I see that it was Shay, that's when I remembered. That's right, I told her to sleep here last night. Smiling to myself, I relax near her and decide to stroke her hair while I start remembering about yesterday.

"So don't lose hope okay? I still love you and I will always love you. I love you Ayato."

Her last four words starts to repeat in my head. What she told me yesterday was all from her heart, sincerely. Every word had made me fall in love with her all over again. That's the Shay I love, the one who had always believed in me when I feel like no one else does. She puts forth all her efforts through everything she does and yet even though life drags her down, she chose to stand up and face it all. Sometimes...I just wish I had that courage that she lets out even through tough times...

I don't even know how to deal with my father, I don't even know how to protect myself...worse, I don't even know how to protect Shay...If I don't get this all cleared up, then I'm bound to hurt Shay, if I make a wrong move, then I'm bound to hurt Shay too...I don't know what to do. Why the heck—

Suddenly disturbing my thoughts, I can feel Shay wrapping her hands around mine. "...Aya..to..." She quietly calls. It was as if she knew what I was thinking, even through her dreams and sleeps. Shay knows me like none other, there's no way I'm backing down just because of my father. No way. I can feel the anger shooting through my feelings as my mind starts thinking about what would happen to Shay if my plans don't work out.

"Mm...Ayato-kun...?" Shay's eyes starts opening half way as she's trying to fight through the sun. "Bright..." She says when she goes to place her hands to her face but suddenly realize that she had her hands around mine. "Oh..." 😮

Her reactions were so cute that it starts to soften the anger I had just some seconds ago.

"I..." Then she gasp as if reality had just hit her. Shay quickly releases my hand and intently jerked away from me with the blanket covered over her like a cape. "We—you—I—w-we didn't do anything right?" She stammers through her words.  Sighing, I roll her eyes teasingly. "What did you think we did? All you did was sleep and I watched you, that's all."

"Oh okay." She sighs in relief then quickly gasp again. "Y-you watched me sleep?!"

I shrug as if it was no big deal, I mean it wasn't so why's she so worked up about this? "So? It's not like anything weird happened."

"So...I didn't do or say anything weird to you then...?"

My mouth curls up into a smirk. "Wouldn't you like to know? You were grasping my hand and desperately calling out my name. 'Ayato, Ayato'—"

"N-no I didn't!" She tries protesting. Seeing her blushing furiously under the sheets makes me want to tease her more. "Remember last night? Your words went all out on how much you loved me and—" I suddenly felt a smack on my head. Quickly looking back at her, I see that she just threw a pillow at me while she's still blushing hard. "Oh, you wanna go?" I let out a grin and she instantly bits her lips, as if she regretted ever hitting me. Holding out the pillow she threw at me, I hit her hard with it in the head. That's when Shay jumps out of the blankets and faced me with a challenging mad expression. "Oh you're on." She glares. I laugh and quickly hit her again with the pillow.

Shay kept trying to hit me too but I was too fast with my hands. Finally, when it looks like she has given up, I throw the pillow down beside me and grabbed her down along with me as she screams playfully and we both start laughing together. 😂 "Shay." I call her name after a few more moment of us laughing. "Huh?" She answers with her angelic tone in her voice.

Shay's POV

Wondering what was up, Ayato takes out his phone and showed me something. Looking at it, it was...Me...!

I gasp in panic and tried to snatch the phone away from him but Ayato was too fast

I gasp in panic and tried to snatch the phone away from him but Ayato was too fast. He was already on foot when I was still on the floor sitting. Quickly, I got up and start jumping for the phone, not that it helped, the phone was too high. "Ayato!"

"You know, you always have that angelic look on you when you sleep, just like an angel." He smiles. I'm happy he said that but...! "H-how! How did you got that? That looks like"

"Arisa sent it to me two nights ago." He answers me. I look at him stunned. They still spoke even though we broke up? "Caption." He starts reading from his phone. "'Look what you're missing out on, Ayato-kun. Don't you miss her' smily face." Then turns to me. "Of course, I did missed you."

"Ayato...!" I whine as I'm pouting, ready to give up so I sat on the floor, arms crossed with a pouty face. Ayato just looks at me as he rolls his eyes teasingly. "Geez, look at you. Acting like a baby. That's not gonna buy me into deleting this picture though." He shakes his head. I look up madly, still with a pout. ☹️ "Fine." Then my face starts turning serious. "Hey...what did your mother say about this?" I ask him curiously recalling about his father's plans.

Ayato crosses his arms. "She never wanted to be a part of this drama so she stayed outta this. I don't blame her, I wouldn't want to be part of the drama either. But I know that she's against my dad. Not that it'll help anyways, he ain't gonna listen to anyone." And with that, he just pats my head before walking off into the bathroom.

A long sigh escapes my lips. 😔
