Chapter 4

..........I stood there speechless and barely could move. I couldn't blink either or look away from his serious gaze. And at that moment, everything else around us didn't matter. "I...You're joking aren't you?" I joke looking away not being after to keep his gaze. "Nobody can joke making a bold confession you idiot. I'm serious." He tells me and I can still feel his gaze on me.

It's not that I don't know that you're serious or not, I know you are but...what do I say in return? How do I even respond? What am I suppose to do?

"I don't need your respond if you don't know what to say right now. I get it. It's your first time someone confessed to you. Heh, it's funny." He teases. "You—" I stare back at him like I'm pouting. "That's why I took you away from Jun, cause I knew he was going to confess, I didn't wanted him to be your first confessor." He explained.

"Wow. I don't even know what to say except saying that I don't know what to say cause I really don't know what to say especially since you just confessed to me and now—"

"Yeah, I know. Anyways, think about it will you? It's my first time being serious to a girl." He said patting my head as he leaves. I stay speechless at what just happened.

So let me get this straight. Ayato, confessed to me. My first confessor was him. And his first time being serious was with me. OMG what just happened?!

"OMG Shay! Takuma confessed to me! I'm so happy Shay! I told him yes and so now we're dating and I'm so happy!" >\\< Arisa came smiling happily. "Wow, that's really awesome. Congrats." I told her still without a smile. "Look, I know you don't smile but seriously?"

"Sorry." I apologized. "Did something happen to you while I was gone?" She asked. "Yeah, something terrible happened to me. I mean I don't know if I'll call it terrible but it's not really that great. Um...someone confessed to me." I told her. "What?! Your first confessor? OMG! That's not terrible you idiot! What's terrible about that?" She asked as she gasped.

"I don't know how to answer to it." I said. "Oh come on, you could've rejected that guy since you know you might like—" she gasp. And I nodded knowing what she was going to say. She starts screaming excitedly. "OMG! That's so ah~ I knew this was going to happen!!! I'm so happy for you!!! My best friend is about to get a boy—" I quickly cover her mouth.

"Arisa! Everyone will be looking at us, keep your voice low." I whispered. "Okay, don't need to whisper but, I'm so happy for you Shay. Ayato is a great guy and you know it too. You two should totally go out." She relaxed. "But I mean,I don't even know if I like him or not. It's complicated okay?"

"Yeah, I get that feeling. Just, make the right choice then okay?" She smiled and I look at her gratefully and she knew that meant a smile, just that I don't show it.

We got to school and I can hear gossips from students as I walk down the hallways all mostly about the same topic.

"Did you hear? During the trip, Ayato confessed to someone?"

"Who was the girl?"

"Ugh, if only it was me, I mean I would be way better than whoever that girl was. Oh hey Shay!" They smiled as I walk passed. "Did you heard? Do you know who Ayato confessed to? You're his closest friend, you should know right?" One asks. "If you don't know, please ask him for us." They pleaded. "Uh, yeah sure. I'll go ask him right after school." I said. "Thank you Shay!" They smiled as I start leaving.

"She's so cool, a girl like her could totally get a boyfriend anytime. I mean she's so close to Ayato and the other guys." I hear them saying. Oh gosh. "Wonder why she doesn't smile though." I have my reasons.

I wonder in the hallways if I even like Ayato or not and why I don't know how to answer him. It can't be that hard right? Unless if I actually like him. Eh, who knows. Not that it mattered much.

I saw Ayato chatting with some other girls. Wow. I stare blankly and I saw him staring back and smiles at me. Ba dum. Whoa, what was that?

In class, me and Arisa starts talking. "Hey, sorry, you're gonna have to walk home without me today, I'll be going with—"

"Takuma? Yeah, I can tell." I finished her sentence. "Hope you guys have fun. Hey, how does it feels like?" I asked her. "Heh, it feels nice. It's nice to love someone even though you know you're going to have to get through hard stuff, I mean as long as you're faithful and loyal to each other with I don't think would be a problem, we'll be fine. It's nice liking someone and even dating them." Arisa explained to me.

"Jeez, you sound like you're really in love."

"Yeah, guess I am." She smiles.

After school, I went up to the rooftop where I knew Ayato would be and sure enough, he was. "Ayato." I call him and he turns. "Wow, already got an answer for me?"

"What? No. I don't have an answer to that yet. Be patient."

"Yeah, yeah, I know. So then why?"

"Well first of all, those girls really want to know who the girl you confessed to—do not tell anyone! Or I'll be busted. Ugh, why did you had to get caught?" I complain. "Whatever. And second?" He asked. "Oh um, well I was going to tell you this with Arisa but she has plans with Takuma."

"Yeah, you see, at least she gave him an answer right away unlike you—"

"Shut up. Anyways, well, since she's busy, I just wanted to get this off my chest, I'll tell her later but I just need to say it to someone so I figured since we were—"

"Just get to the point." He complains un patiently. "Fine. Um...well... I'm, I'm ready." He gives me a confused look. "Ready for what?" He asked. "I'm ready to tell you why I don't smile anymore."
