*Chapter 13

We were currently standing outside the lobby waiting for James to come with the car. We were about to leave for Caskot. It was a pretty long way from Pearce and there weren't any motels or anything on the way so we had to camp. I was actually looking forward to it, I've always loved the idea of camping but I never could camp in the woods. And what excited me even more was that I would be celebrating my birthday, which is tomorrow, during the camping. Cue my mental chicken dance.

I was pulled away from my internal dance by the honking of a car. James had gone to the store to get all the supplies needed for the camp like the tents, food etc. James honked again and indicated us to get in. We all loaded our luggage in the back where the camp equipment was already kept. Ems and Chase got in the back and Corrie also rushed forward to get in the back so obviously DM also got in the back. It's so obvious that he has a crush on her and I'm pretty sure that she also likes him. I shall talk to DM about it later. Anyway, I got in the front and we took off. We all settled into a comfortable silence, until Corrie opened her mouth.

"So, Megan?" She asked.

"Yeah, Corrie?" I sighed, knowing very well what's coming next.

"Are you excited for your birthday tomorrow!?" She squealed.

"Man, it looks like it's your birthday more than mine!" I chuckled.

"It's my best friend's birthday! You're finally turning 18! Such a baby!" She squealed.

"Hey! I'm not a baby!" I protested.

"It's your birthday tomorrow?" James asked.

"Yeah." I shrugged. I was pretty excited for my birthday but I refuse to let it show. I mean yeah, it's a big deal only cause I'm turning 18 but usually I don't care if it's my birthday.

"Wow, someone is excited." DM muttered sarcastically. I just stuck my tongue out at him.

"But Megan! It's your birthday! You've gotta show some excitement!" Ems pouted.

"What do you want me to do? Strip in front of everybody and scream 'HEY GUYS! ITS MY FREAKIN' BIRTHDAY!'? No, thank you." I smirked.

"Actually, I would be interested in that stripping part." James smirked as he stole a glance at me. I blushed at his comment. Everyone 'oohed' and 'ah'ed from the back.

"Of course you would." I said as I shoved him playfully.

"Hey! No hitting the driver!" He scolded.

"Sorry, Mr.Oh we'll get in an accident." I mocked him with my hands up as if in surrender.

"Yeah, yeah. If we crash I'm gonna blame it on you." He pouted.

Oh my god, he looked so cute when he did that! I just wanna kiss him right here, right now.

Whoa! Hold it right there. When did I get such thoughts? Screw these girly hormones and screw his good looks.

"No, but seriously, what have you thought for your birthday?" Chase asked from the back.

"Why should I think? Aren't my friends supposed to give me a surprise kind of thing?" I mused.

"Yeah, right." Corrie snorted sarcastically.I just turned around in my seat and smacked her playfully.

"Ow!" She said in mock horror.

"That's what you get for not being a true friend." I smirked and she just showed me the finger.

It had been one and a half hour since we were driving and these one and a half hours I realised how good, like really good, James looks while driving. Yeah. I kept looking at him creepily while he was driving. Don't judge. Of course I'm gonna keep looking at a hot guy who is driving a car sitting right beside me instead of the forests and trees we were passing. I mean c'mon! Hot guy or green forests?
