2-The one where James and Aiden meet.
🔃Megan's POV🔃
"You ready, James?" I asked him as stopped in front of my elder brother's apartment.
He took a deep breath, looking at the apartment in front of him. "Yeah, yeah." He nodded.
He was so scared.
And it was hilarious.
I controlled the smile etching onto my face. "Let's go, then." I got out of the car and we both made our way inside, and to the fourth floor.
I rang the bell as we stood in front of door. It was only last week that James had asked me to move in with me with the surprise and all and Aiden insisted that he has to meet with James as soon as possible. So here we are, for dinner, at my brother's place. And tonight is going to hil-to-the-arious.
The door opened and I came face-to-face with, not my brother.
"Alex." I smiled. What is Alex doing here?
"Megan." He gave away his charming grin. James cleared his throat. "And James."
I turned to see James's face looking ready for the kill. He look absolutely furious and a tad but jealous but as soon as his eyes met mine, his expression changed to just a pleasant, fake smile.
"Hey." He nodded at Alex.
"Please, come in." Alex moved in to let us enter. I went in first and as James entered, I could literally feel all the cold, heavy vibes in the air.
"So, where's Ad?" I asked Alex, as we went towards the living room.
"Aiden has gone out to run a few errands. He should be back in a couple minutes." Alex informed as I sat on the couch, with James beside me and Alex occupying the other seat beside me. And here I thought the opposite couch and the two recliners were meant for sitting purposes.
"Okay, then." I sighed, leaning back. The boys copied me.
A few seconds of awkward silence passed between us, until I decided to break it. "I bet Aiden went to get a parcel for dinner."
Alex chuckled. "Yep, he did. Tried his hand at cooking but couldn't cook for shit."
I smiled. He was always a pathetic cook, like me. "What's he getting?"
"Mexican, I think." Alex replied.
"Oh. I love Mexican food." I smiled. Tacos are the best food in the world. After pizza. And Chinese. And Indian chicken curry.
"That's nice." He nodded. Cue the awkwardness. I did the mistake of glancing at James and saw that his jaw clenching and unclenching. Clenching and unclenching. Clenching an-oh, you get it. He was upset!
I slipped my hand through his, which was resting on his lap, trying to calm him down. Alex didn't seem to miss that gesture that suddenly his hand was behind my head, resting on the couch. And I thought he was a decent guy.
"So, Alex. How's life?" I asked him, turning to see his eyes boring into mine and James's entwined hands. His eyes snapped back to me when he heard me.
"It's...it's good." He cleared his throat.
"Any girlfriends?" I started rubbing small circles on the back of James's hand.
"Nope, not really." He replied vaguely, his focus on my thumb rubbing circles on James's hand.
"How's college?" I asked, diverting his attention.
