Epilogue

~8 years later~

"I'm so glad you guys could make it." I say as I step aside to let Jessi and Seth in.

"Of course. We just got back from Italy. We wouldn't miss this barbecue for the world."

Jordan runs out of the kitchen and jumps into Seth's arms, "Uncle Seth! You're back!"

Seth chuckles and gives Jordan a noogie, "Of course I am. I wouldn't leave my little man behind."

"Come play dolly with me Aunt Jethicca." Christina says with her soft, lisped voice.

Jessi smiles at her and sits on the couch, "Did any drama go down with Jake and Noah while I was gone?"

Chrissy giggles and launches into a story on how Natalie and Noah finally started dating, while Derek snakes his arms around my waist from behind, "The burgers are on the grill and Saith, Cameron, Abby, and Grace and their kids are on their way, and so are Kai and Sam and their kids."

I smile and give him a quick kiss before walking into the dining room, to find Jack coloring with Leila and Breydon. After highschool Jack went to a college in Florida and fell in love with a beautiful girl, but sadly they got divorced. Jack has been raising Leila and Breydon as his own kids and they live next door to Derek and I, who went to the same college. Short after we had Jordan, and 3 years later Christina. Jessi and Seth never had kids but they travel the world together, never staying in one spot for too long. The only reason they come back is to visit us. Cameron and Saith married twins and both had twins 3 years later. Cameron married Abby and had Michael and Alex and Saith married Grace and had Mallory and Zack. Luke and his wife Amelia have a newborn baby girl, Gabriella, that Luke is crazy overprotective of. Kai and Sam finally were able to adopt Lily and Violet, a 6 year old and a 2 year old.

"It's a beautiful day outside, go play!" I shoo Leila and Breydon out the door and soon Jordan and Christina follow.

"FOR THE LAST TIME I DON'T HAVE GAMES ON MY PHONE!" Sam screams as he walks into the house.

"I swear if you don't lower your voice right now, I will pummel the gay out of you. Gabriella just fell asleep for the first time in 17 hours..." Luke hisses at Sam and he frowns in return, but keeps his mouth shut.

Amelia walks into the kitchen with bags under her eyes and waves at us, "If you need me I'm just going to be sleeping in the lawn chairs."

Luke nods and follows her out, rocking Gabriella in his arms as he goes.

"What a grouch." Sam says as he sayshays into the kitchen.

"Hi Maggie." Lily whispers as she hugs my leg.

I crouch down and give her a hug, "Hello little Lily Pad!" I tickle her and she squirms away from me, "Chrissy is outside..."

Lily smiles widely and runs outside, cutting my sentence off. Kai chuckles and walks hand in hand with Sam out the door.

"All of the twins have arrived. It's a true party now!" Saith shouts as he walks into the kitchen with his family.

I smile and give him and Cameron a hug, "It's been too long. I've missed baby Mallory..."

Saith holds his chest playfully, "I'm wounded... Zack is also wounded. We are just as missable as her..."

"Yea, but she's cuter and much more kissable." Derek says, walking in from the patio.

"You wouldn't wanna kiss all this?" Saith pouts, gesturing towards himself.

Derek rolls his eyes and pulls Saith into a hug, "Stop flirting with my husband and go check on the burgers, you don't wanna burn them again..." Grace giggles as she walks into the kitchen, carrying a sleeping Mallory and a crying Zack, "Your turn snookums."

Saith sighs and grabs Zack, leaving a kiss on Graces cheek, before walking out of the kitchen.

I squeal and take Mallory from her as she sits on a bar stool, "Did you hear what happened to Karla?"

"I heard that she had a daughter, is that true?" Abby says walking into the kitchen with Jessi.

"Oooohh. Girl gossip. As much as I'd love to hear about what some girl did to some guy, I'm just passing through." Cameron takes Alex and Michael from Abby and walks into the backyard.

"Yea it is. I'm pretty sure her name was Amber. Anyways, her and Ashton had her a couple months after graduation, but Karla was a horrible mother and the baby got taken away by child protective services. Now she's living with a married couple in Colorado." I say, pouring wine for the four of us.

"Didn't Ashton go to jail for drug trafficking?" Jessi asks, taking her glass.

"Yea he did. He's actually cellmates with Derek's dad, small world I guess." I take a sip and Grace sighs.

"It's so sad, at least Amber is in good hands. How do people even go down bad paths like that?"

"Speaking of bad paths, did you hear about Ricky?" Jessi asks, "He got a job at the Juvie Center that he went to and now helps younger kids get back on their feet and build a clean lifestyle."

"Good for him! At least he's helping people now." I say and stand, "Dinner should be ready. Let's go out back."

We walk out onto the patio and join the rest of our friends and family.

"Hey sweetcheeks." Derek smiles at me and pulls me into his arms.

I sigh happily and lean my head against his chest, "I love you."

"I love you too." He looks down at me and wipes away a stray tear, "Hey, what's wrong?"

I shake my head, "I'm just so happy. I have a beautiful family, husband, and group of friends. I never thought in my wildest dreams that this would happen. After all, you were the player and I was the nobody."
