§The New Bad Boy§
*thud*
"Ouch!" I fall to the ground as another oblivious passerby rushes past me. I wonder what's got them all worked up.
"Hey are you okay?" Jessi, my best friend, comes up to me and helps me pick up my math books, "Did you hear? There's a new guy in town. I hear he's a bad boy. Also that he's super cute."
"I wonder if.... Oh no! I thought I saw a car in the driveway in the house next to me. You know not Slimy Seth or Salty Sam but the new one." Jessi and I all had names for the popular boys in our school. Of course they all live in my neighborhood, but even worse they are the houses that surround me.
"So you have a new neighbor?"
"Yeah, too bad it's another 'bad boy'" I stand up putting quotation marks on bad boy.
"Hey at least they are all cute! But not as cute as Salty Sam." Jessi has yet another crush, but this time it's ridiculous. The guy she is crushing on is one of the bad boys at our school that also lives by me. Sometimes I think she hangs out with me just so she can stare at him through one of my windows. I sigh as I begin to walk towards my class. As I arrive I see a swarm of people around the door. What the...
"Excuse me." I say quietly. I try to squeeze past, but I can't, "Excuse me! I have to..." I let out a small squeak as I get pushed out of the way and begin to fall, but soon feel strong muscular arms wrap around my waist.
"Be careful. You could have gotten hurt." I look up to see an angel staring down at me with gorgeous brown eyes. He had muscles, tattoos, piercings, and the perfect hair.
"S-sorry." I wriggle out of his arms and try yet again to get through the crowd, but when I turn around I see all eyes on me. Oh no. I don't do well with attention. Why are they... Oh crap! This must be the new guy. Already I'm making a fool of myself. I decide to ignore the stares and conversations about me and start dashing my way through a gap. I finally get through and find my seat in the back of the room. I take out my math notebook, and start writing down the notes Mr. Sharden wrote on the board.
"Welcome back! I hope your weekend was enjoyable. You may have noticed that we have a new student. Mr.Wells please introduce yourself."
"I'm Derek" He winks at a girl in the crowd. Ugh just another boy to break every girls heart.
"Welcome to our school. Well it looks like the only seat left is next to Maggie." He points at me and my eyes widen as my jaw drops. Please be another Maggie in a row in front of me. Nope. Derek comes up and sits beside me and smirks at me. I try my hardest to ignore him, but as I said before he is an angel and irrisistable.
"Hey," He says in a seductive voice, "I guess we're going to be spending a lot of time together. I'm not the best at math." Really?! Is that the best he could come up with?! I roll my eyes as I get back to my work. The class is soon over and I quickly gather my things, get up, and leave the classroom. I walk to my locker and see Jessi leaning against it, waiting for me.
"Hey, so I hear you fell head over heels for the new kid." She winks at me playfully and smirks.
"No it's just idiotic people being rude in the halls yet again." I close my locker and we begin to walk, "And you know how much I just love math? Yeah it just got sooo much better! Now I'm forced to sit next to him and he's just AMAZING!" She laughs at my sarcasticness as we arrive at the class. We walk in and see a swarm of people crowded around the front of the class. Oh no! He's in this class too? Why?! What did I ever do to deserve this? I think the world just wants me to flunk my classes. Why does he have to be so good looking?
"Okay everyone find your seats!" Ms. DeBrat screamed as she walked into the classroom. Can you tell I don't like her? Derek smiles talks to the teacher for a few seconds until he turns and walks towards my table. NO NO NO NOOOO! He sits next to me.
"Really?!" I mutter. Apparently he heard. He leans towards me and whispers in my ear.
"If you wanted to get close to me you could have just asked. You didn't have to pay everyone to stay away from you just so I had to sit next to you." He smirks as he pulls away and leans back in his chair. Ugghhh!! Seriously did he literally JUST say that?!! I look over at Jessi with pleading eyes. She just smiles and shakes her head. Damn.
"Okay class! We are going to start a project in a few weeks and your partner will be the person sitting next to you." This could honestly not get worse, "Also the project will not be worked on during class. You must work on it with your partner outside of school!" I stand corrected.
"Looks like we're gonna be spending a lot more time together than I thought." Derek smirks as I clench my fists in anger. Its either fail, or spend time with Douchy Derek. Ooohhhh! I have to tell that one to Jessi. I was faced with a tough decision, but I decided to grow a pair and deal with it.
-lunch-
"Did he seriously say that?!" Jessi hush screamed. We sometimes eat our lunch in the library. It has less drama, and we can sit in the back where no one goes and talk about anything.
"Yep! Now do you get why I'm dreading him finding out that we are neighbours?"
"I feel for ya babe." She replies with pity laced in her voice.
"Good news is I came up with a nickname for his personality."
"Oohhh you always come up with the best ones!"
"Douchy Derek" I look at her with hopeful eyes as she burst out laughing. I chuckle along with her, but get inturupted by nonetheless the one, the only, Douchy Derek.
"What's so funny?"
"Nothing that concerns... Well none of your buis-.... Well..." I suck at comebacks, Jessi on the other side.....not so much.
"What are people like you doing back here? I thought only intelligent people came into the library."
"Woah! Who lit the fuse on your tampon?" His friends chuckle at his comeback. I could swear right there right now she was going to say a really good comeback, but she did something even better.
*smack*
The sound ricocheted throughout the whole library.
"Jeez woman!"
*smack*
This time he kept his mouth shut.
"Next time you plan on being a jerk warn me so I can slap you before hand." She storms off and I can practically see the smoke coming out of her ears. I start to follow her, but instead I get stopped by Derek's big, strong, masculine arms.
"Let me go. Don't make this worse for yourself." I growl as I push past his arm to go find my pissed friend. This is so not going to be fun. While I'm leaving I hear Derek say something.
"Woah! I didn't know that a girl could get hotter when she's angry!" I know I shouldn't, but I felt a little jealous. I wish a hot guy like that thought I was hot. I shrug the thought out of my mind as I turn the corner and see Jessi screaming into her jacket holding her fist.
"Did you punch your locker?"
"Ummm...yeaaahhhh. Can you take me to the hospital? I think I just broke my fingers..."
