JEAN'S POV
After a quick, and real delicious, breakfast- they made their way back over to Sam and Emily's. Jared had told Kim to meet them there, she was anxious and excited to meet another girl- besides Leah that was. Man, that girl could glare. She looked over at Jacob curiously, thinking about how after all those legends and clues she missed- he was a werewolf. Her boyfr- wait, were they together? Well, maybe- but. . . what?
"What are you thinking?" He asked through the betting going on around them by the pack.
"Just how you and the guys are werewolves. It's pretty damn awesome, if you ask me." She commented.
"Sure," He said stiffly.
"What? You don't like being a werewolf?"
"No, it gets in the way." She nodded understandingly.
"Well, I can see where you're coming from- you're stuck with me now." She said, nudging his ribs.
"Stuck with?" He raised his eyebrows. She looked up into his dark eyes.
"Eh, I'm not that all great a catch." She shrugged.
"Yeah, okay." He snorted in disbelief.
"So, Jared, what's Kim like?" She called out over Quil and Embry.
"She's nice, outgoing, and she really likes to shop and all that girl junk."
"Well, it's about time I found another girl around here."
"What about friends in New York?" Embry asked. She shrugged.
"They weren't anything special."
"What were they like?"
"You know, nice."
"Were they hot?" Quil asked.
"Shut up!" She scolded. He smirked proudly.
They pulled up to the house and there was a small bronze car parked out front. A girl hopped out. She had a thick sheet of shiny black hair, and bright blue eyes, her skin was a little darker and tan. She was very pretty, a good match for Jared. She walked over with a skip in her step and hugged him tightly.
Yeah, I'm Jean," She smiled reassuringly.
"Easy enough, I'm Kim."
"Jared talks about you all the time, good things of course." He gave a silent thank you from behind her. She smiled sweetly at him over her shoulder. The group moved in the house, her and Kim falling behind, they were talking about clothes and shoes.
"I love your sweater," She commented.
"Thanks, those shoes are so cute!" And it went on from there. It was nice to talk about girl stuff again, and her and Kim had grown on eachother fast. They finally woke up from the conversation when Leah shouldered past Jean in her usual moody way. She swished her tongue over her gums angrily and spun around.
"Sorry, Leah, was I in your way?" She asked overly-sweet.
JACOB'S POV
He turned around in horror. Jean in a cat-fight, hot but not pretty. Leah was especially moody, especially because now she and Embry were the only ones left without imprints. Sam and Emily's wedding had just happened too. He saw it all from when her lip rose from her tongue, she always did it when she was angry- it hadn't changed.
"Yes, you were," Leah said roughly but stiffly all at once.
"Good." She said and she smirked slightly as she walked off toward the house. Kim looked at her with envy, he looked after Leah's shocked expression and he grinned widely. No one had ever told her off before. Now his girlfr- wait, were they together? He let the thought linger before following them into the house.
"Hey, let's go up to Port Angeles and go shopping!" Kim squealed excitedly, but Jared groaned. "You don't have to come." He suddenly had a torn look on his face as he stared in her blue eyes. It was the whole 'do anything for the imprint' stare.
"Fine, we'll go," He sighed and looked at the rest of them apolegetically.
"We? We!" Paul said incredulously. "How did this 'you' become a 'we'?"
"Paul, chill, we'll go- it'll be fun." Quil shrugged.
Jean and Kim exchanged grins and she strolled over to Jacob with the same smile. He smirked down at her and reached out his hand, she took it and followed the rest out. When all their backs were turned, he dragged her to the side of the house and she ran with him being dragged limply, hiding her small laughs.
"What are you doing?" She laughed. The sound was music to his ears.
"This," He said and he leant down without a thought to kiss her. She was against the side of the house and he was leaning to one side, she lifted herself up a bit, and deepened the kiss. He transferred a hand to the small of her back, and both hers wound around his stomach- she couldn't exactly reach his neck comfortably.
"Well, I like this." She beamed up at him. "Do you think they'll notice we're gone?" And just then a horn honked from the front yard.
"Yup," He said popping the 'p'. The horn honked again more impatiently. "Let's go, before Paul has another spaz." She laughed and he dragged her again by her hand to the car. He climbed in the car and a few seconds later, Jean swung in and perched herself on his lap. He grinned.
"That's not happening." Embry said, now he's going all big-brother on them.
"Embry, I'm a big girl." She said and there was a round of laughter.
"So that means you can sit in a seat like everyone else," He challenged.
"I'm older," She crossed her arms.
"By five minutes!"
"Five minutes or five years, all the same. I was breathing air first!"
With a low growl and an eye roll he turned around and he watched as she clipped the seatbelt on around their hips. He raised the corners of his mouth in a smirk when she sat back against the door so she could see him better.
JEAN'S POV
The drive to Port Angeles was a little while, and she and Jacob stared at eachother alot of the way- tuning out all other conversations and laughter. It was like imprinting all over again, the world stopped and it was them. She bit her lip and leaned against his shoulder, so the door wasn't the comfiest place to lean- so what?
"Hey, Jake?" She whispered softly.
"Yeah, Jean?" He breathed back just as quiet.
"Are we. . . you know- like, together?"
"I actually don't know, I was just wondering that." He chuckled.
"I was too. What do you think?"
"We both know I can't live without you-"
"Hey, don't take all the credit, I had a pretty big part in this."
"Yeah, you did." He grinned and she felt her lips raise as well. "So, what do you think?"
"I think I love you."
"I know I love you."
"So, ask me." She prompted.
"Would you trust me with your heart and let me have it to hold and to have 'till death do us-"
"Jake," She said. "We're not getting married. . . yet." His grin grew, he swore she heard his jaw crack.
"Wouldja be my girl?" He asked shortly.
"Are you gonna be my girl?" She sung under her breath(Are you gonna be my girl by Jet) and nodded.
"What's dying!" Quil teased from the front.
But she didn't hear it. She was too consumed in Jacob's face from where she saw it, staring up at him from his shoulder- which was warm and comfortable. She listened to the other conversations distantly and jumped in to defend herself or others when an insult was given- but that was it. She was now Jacob Black's girl. Her long-time best friend for life. . . was now her boyfriend.
