Chapter 5: The Boss

"I'LL GET IT!" Natalie and Louis yell.

They both race to the door. Natalie got there first, of course. She ran track all through Middle School and High School, for God's sake!

Anyway when she opened the door, the famous Simon Cowell was standing at the door steps. I almost jumped out of my seat.

"UNCLE SI!" The boys yell together.

They both ran up to him and hugged the guts out of him. "Ok, Ok, boys. You can stop hugging now and introduce me to the winners!" Simon says chuckling.

The boys get off of him and Liam introduces us. "This is Anna, Natalie, Makayla, Joy, and Lindsey." Liam said.

"Hey, why am I the one that is last and Anna is first!?" I say jokingly.

"I was going by alphabetical order duh. " Liam says mater-of-factually. Does he need to go back to kindergarten?

I flick him over the head. "OW! What was that for?!" Liam says peeved off.

Because you were being a smart asş, that's why." I sassed. The girls giggled at my sass. In my head, I was mentally thanking Louis for teaching me his ways.

"I have to agree with Lindsey there," Niall interupts my thoughts. "You were being a little smart." I smiled at him and he smiled back.

I quickly looked away and back at Simon.

"Whatever." Liam says rolling his eyes. I chuckle quietly.

"Ok, enough with the chatting, and let's get down to business." Simon says sitting down on the couch.

We sat down on the couch on the other side so we could face him."Ok, let me hear you girls sing... What Makes You Beautiful. Wait, no. How about...," Simon trails off. "She's Not Afraid. Yup, that's the one I want you to sing."

So we got up and sang one of my favorite songs. It was kind of nerve wrecking doing it in front of the Simon Cowell and One Direction at the same time. But somehow, we got through it.

After we got done singing they applauded.

We bowed and started laughing at nothing. Something we do on a daily basis really.

"That was wonderful girls! Where did you get those beautiful singing voices?"Simon says sounding shocked.

"Well, my older sister, Lia is a really good singer. Oh, and my mom" I say. I haven't seen Lia in so long. She is off at college. I really miss her.

"Well, I guess I get it from my mom too." Natalie says.

" I get it a little from my dad and my mom." Anna says.

" I really don't know. No one in my family can sing" Joy said. I laughed.

" Well, I get it from my mom and my grandmom." Makayla says.

"That's wonderful!" Simon says. I heard the sarcasam in his face. I knew he wanted us to shrug it off and giggle but yea, we take things very literal." Oh, look at the time!I have to be going. Well it was nice to meet you girls. Have a great day, Oh, and you too boys!"

Simon says getting up and heading to the door. "Bye!" We all say. Wow, that was a over used excuse to leave. But hey, I've always known I was annoying.

He waves and we wave back. He opens the door and leaves. "Well, that was interesting." Makayla says sitting next to Harry on her phone.

The girls and I agree with her. It got quiet for a moment until the Bradford bad boy spoke up.

" Oh, yea. Um...we're going to the U.K. tomorrow." Zayn says.

The girls and I all look at him, our mouths hanging open

"WHAT?!"
