Chapter 38

Ray's POV:
Phone convo continued
Me: WHAT, HOW!
Brandon: I don't know, just hurry and get here quickly
Me: alright I'm on my way

Since I didn't have my car I ran hoping everyone is safe. By the time I had got there everyone was standing at the front of the building while the firefighters did their job. I stood there and scanned the crowd to see if Brandon, Simone, and Dominique had made it out of the building safely. They caught my eye but Dominique was no where to be found so I ran up to them "hey are you guys ok" I asked concerned "yeah we're fine" Brandon asked "where's Dominique" I asked, they stayed silent "WHERE IS SHE" I asked getting angry, I could feel my blood boiling all through my body "she didn't make it out of the building" Simone said as tears ran down her face "I'm so sorry man" Brandon said "where was the last place she was after I left" I asked "she was with us a few minutes before the accident" Brandon replied back to me as I heading towards the burning building "wait, what are doing, you can't go in there" I heard Brandon say from a distance; I walked back towards them "listen, I know what I'm doing is stupid but I refuse to leave Dominique in that building whether you like it or not" and that was the last thing I said to then before I headed inside the building. I didn't take the front because I knew I would get caught so I took the back instead. When I got inside there were pieces of everything on the floor so I did my best to get through some of the space that was there without hurting myself even though I knew I was putting myself at harms risks. I wasn't going to give up until I found her. After looking around for a while I noticed a body structure leaning up against the wall lying on the floor "Dominique" I croaked; barely being able to talk due to the smoke in the air, I ran to her and checked to make sure she was breathing. I sighed in relief, she was but just barely. I picked her up and headed out the way that I came "Ray" I heard her whisper shortly before she let out a cough "it's ok" I replied back before she passed out. I was almost out of the building when an explosion happened....then I blacked out.

Sierra's POV:
"Hey, have you heard anything yet" my husband asked as he burst through the door "no, not yet, I hope everybody's ok I replied back when my phone began to ring.

Phone convo
Me: hello
Nicole: hey, where are you at right now
Me: I'm at the house, why?
Nicole: is Jacob with you
Me: yes
Nicole: meet me and Raymond at the hospital
Me: what, why
Nicole: Ray and Dominique got trapped in building
I froze
Me: alright, we're on our way

"Babe, what's wrong" Jacob asked, I felt tears form in my eyes Praying to God that my baby and Ray would be ok "Dominique and Ray got trapped in the campus fire" I relied to him feeling my throat tighten "Nicole told us to meet them at the hospital" I said taking a seat on the couch trying to process everything that I saw and everything that I was told "listen baby, I know your upset and I know your scared but they're going to make it ok, I'm worried about then too. Take a deep breath and relax" he said and I did what he suggested "it'll be alright" he said grabbing me into a hug "I love you" he relied "I love you too baby" I replied back as I release myself from the hug collecting my phone, keys and purse and followed Jacob out the door as we headed to the hospital.

At the hospital:
We finally arrived at the hospital and I immediately got out of the car makings  my ways toward the doors as my husband quickly trailed behind. "Hi, which room is Dominique Smith in" I asked the lady at the front desk "she in room 213" the last replied back "thanks" I replied to her before heading to the elevator with Jacob. When we got to her room Raymond, Nicole, and Dierra were already there. "What's going on, what are they doing" Jacob asked "they're running test to make sure that there isn't any permanent damage to the brain, the doctors said that they were in that fire for a while and can possibly suffer from smoke insulation" Raymond replied, I could tell he had a lot on his mind; he was frustrated "are you guys ok" Jacob asked "yeah, we're ok, what about you" Nicole asked "we'll be fine" Jacob replied back. We sat in silence for a moment until the doctor returned will the test results "family of Rayan Lopez and Dominique Smith" the doctor said; we all stood in unison "according to the test results from both of them there was no damage to brain. Rayan will be fine and Dominique has suffered a sprained ankle but she will be fine as well. We would like to keep observation  on the both of them so just for a few minutes if you don't mind just hag tight and I will be back to let you know when they are open for visitors" the doctor replied as she left, we all sat down in relief and just waited until the doctor came back to let us know when we are able to see Ray and Dominique. After ten minutes of waiting we were finally able to see them "see you later" I replied to Raymond and Nicole "alright later" Raymond replied back as we headed our separate ways to see our children.

Me and Jacob entered the room and saw that Dominique was still sleeping so we just took a seat next to her bed until she woke up. "Are you ok" I asked my husband, I could tell something was bothering him "yeah I'm ok, I just have a lot on my mind right now that's all" he replied back as there was a knock on the door before someone came in "hey" Brianna whispered as she came in with Simone following behind her "hey" Jacob and I replied back as we stood up to give them hugs "is everything ok" Brianna asked "yes everything's fine, Rays fine and Dominique has a sprained ankle but she'll be fine" I replied back "glad to hear they're both ok" Simone said when we began to hear mumbling. We turned our heads and saw that Dominique was awake "ow" Dominique mumbled "hey sweetie, how are you feeling "I'm ok, wait where's Ray. Is he hurt" she asked with concerned "Ray's fine sweetie, relax" I replied "Dominique what do you remember before the accident" Jacob asked as she sat up "I remember that before this all happened Ray and I had just finished talking and he left and I left a few minutes later to go and talk to Simone and by the time I arrived the fire alarm was going off and then Brandon and Simone both came rushing through the door and they grabbed me and then the next thing I know there's an explosion and I get separated from them. They weren't anywhere to be found, I tried to free my self but I couldn't because my leg caught under a piece of wood. And after a few minutes of struggling I finally got free but I couldn't walked because well, I have a sprained ankle. Then I realized that I didn't have a way out what so ever and so I pushed myself up against a wall and tried to call for help but I coughing so much I couldn't, then I began to become sleepier and sleepier by the minute. After that I heard someone call my name, the voice was familiar but I really couldn't quite picture out who's voice it was until it got closer and that's when I realized it was Ray. He picked me up and told me it would be ok and as far as I know I ended up here." She said "we're just glad that all of you guys made it out safely" Simone said "I agree" Brianna replied back "so when will I be able to go home" Dominique asked "hopefully you'll be able to come home sometime tomorrow but for now they want to keep you here over night to make sure nothing goes wrong and that includes Ray" I replied back "ok". She mumbled "would you like us to stay over night" Jacob asked "as much as I want you guys to, we all need our rest, don't worry about me I'll be fine" she replied back to him "alright, we'll see you later" Jacob replied back as he planted a kiss on her forehead as I did the same afterward. "We love sis" Simone and Brianna said in unison giving her a hug "I love you guys too, see you tomorrow" she replied back "see you tomorrow" I said before we all headed out to go home.

Nicole's POV:
"Hey baby, how are you feeling" I asked Ray "I'm fine, I'm more worried about Dominique than myself. Is she ok" he asked "she's fine" I told him as he let out a sigh "what's wrong" Raymond asked "I just feel like I should have been there to protect her, it's something I've always, I want her to know that I'm there for her and that I still care" he said; he was frustrated with himself "baby she does know that. Don't worry about it ok, you're both safe and that's all that matters right now. So just relax yourself and get some rest and we'll see you in the morning ok" I replied back as I gave him a kiss on the forehead. "I love you" I said "I love you guys too" he replied back "see you later" Dierra said "later" he replied back before we left.
