Chapter 9:  

Following the scenic road that lead from town, I saw a hidden road, and decided to explore it.  

Reaching the end of the road, I found out it lead to a cliff. Parking my bike I kicked out my kick stand then got off, and walked to the edge of the cliff then sat down with my legs hanging off of the side. Giving them a swing as I looked down at the valley below taking in its natural beauty.

"Don't jump it can't be that bad." I heard a voice say that could only belong to my mate. It was different from everyone else's, it made me shiver, yet also confused. Why do I still not feel complete? Is something wrong with me?

"You don't know anything." I said releasing no emotion, and frowned. Why wasn't my wolf protesting, or making herself known? I'm so confused.

"True. But from what I saw back there you are a strong willed girl." He said.

"What you saw back there was just a girl doing her job, and protecting those who need to be protected." I shot back. 

Hearing him sigh, he spoke again. "I am sorry about what happened to your father." 

Hearing him say that I could tell he could really care less, which made me feel like snarling. Even my wolf got riled up.

"Save the lies. I don't care for lies. I know the truth about what you just said. You could really care less about my father dying." I said staring off into the valley beneath the cliff, trying to calm myself.

"Yeah, you're right but sorry if I wanted to at least try, and be a sensitive mate." He replied giving a shoulder shrug.

I smiled slightly though I felt nothing but disdain, and dislike at what he was saying.

"To do that you don't have to lie to me. Just tell me as it is. I can handle it I am a big girl." I said looking at him as he watched me.

"So tell me about yourself mate?" he said with a slightly cold voice as he shrugged his shoulders.

"Not much to tell." I replied back not really interested in a conversation even one with my so called mate.

I could feel him watching me, and I knew he wouldn't leave unless I at least told him something about myself.

I sighed,  "My name is Aaliyah Jackson..."  I started but stopped when my mate asked me a  question.

"Isn't Head Elder Jacobs last name, Jaqcooby?" (Pronounced: Ja-Ko-Bee)

"Yes..." I started but was interrupted as he said something again.

"Then how?" he said confused.

Sighing again I looked away from him.

"Jacob isn't really my dad. But when I first met him I felt drawn to him. Everyone was surprised when Mariah brought me to the mansion, and I ran straight to Jacob then hugged him as he smiled and lifted me up into his arms then hugged me back. Ever since that day he has been like my father, and Mariah has been my mother." I said.
