Chapter 4 – Destruction at the Sanctum

Two gray voids had appeared in the outskirts of a place that had looked like a huge cathedral. The building had a white radiant color around it and its gates were mixed with the colors black and gold. The two voids lay outside the voids and it was no surprise that what had come from them were members of the Novemque Sentis.

“Is this the place?” a cold voiced man said as he pulled down the hood of his gray cloak. His neatly cut gray hair was a standout and his brown eyes had a stingy look of coldness in them. It was Vollerei.

“Well the master said it was a cathedral in the north. This was the only one that we know right? The Sanctum Dei Gaia?” A blue haired Sentis member said as he ruffled his cloak. It was Gewalt this time.

“So Verrath wants us to destroy and kill everyone here?” Vollerei asked. “A pretty strange task if you ask me.” He said.

“But it’s not in our place to doubt the master.” Gewalt replied.

“True.” The gray haired Sentis member said as he summoned a huge hammer in his left hand. “But I don’t really give a damn.” He added.

“Ketzerei’s on the hot list too.” Gewalt said as grey spirit energy flared on his hands and immediately an army of grey crystal fiends had appeared behind him.

Inside of the cathedral, the place really did look like a huge church in where people prayed in. There were pews that were aligned as some nuns dressed in all blue and white robes sat down on them. Some knelt on the kneelers.

The nuns wore headbands on their heads whilst their blue and white robes fell on their bodies as this had complemented the headband on their heads. They had white sandal slippers as foot wear.

One of the nuns was in front of the altar presiding over the prayers as she faced a huge statue in front of the altar. It was a golden statue of the great goddess that had presided over the world that everyone lives in. It was a statue of Gaia.

“Consumptis Terrae et Solis. (Bringer of earth and sun)The nun that was presiding over the prayers had said as she lifted her arms upward. Her hair was long as it fell gently on her shoulders as its ebony color stood out of her outfit. Her eyes were brown as it looked focus in her prayers.

“Nox et tua sunt et aeterna (The night and everlasting are also yours)she continued as the other nuns chanted with her as well.

Nos tibi praecipio tibi in lucem aeternitatis. (I bid thee lead us with thy everlasting light)” She finally said and the nuns responded.

“Versus regnum Aeternitatis (Towards the Realm of Eternity)”

The head nun then gestured the others to bow their heads and they did so as they all prayed solemnly to the Goddess of the Earth that they had worshipped since the beginning. They began humming a hymn that sounded really elegant but sad at the same time.

The song lasted for some time but eventually it had ended and the nuns began to be themselves again as they faced the head nun in front of them.

“Sisters of Gaia, we are done for the day.” The head nun said as the others began to disperse and head on their way.

“You did good Terrah.” An old lady nun who was wearing the same outfit as the others had said as she went near the head nun. She was wearing a crown band laced with gold instead of the traditional headband that the sisters wear as her grey hair was tied neatly. Her eyes were green but it was evident that she was really old because of the wrinkles present on her face.
