Episode 7 - Reminisce

Chapter 7 – Reminisce

The chamber in which the pod was located a grey room remained to be bland in color as the platinum-blonde haired Sentis member continued to stand watch beside it. She rested her back beside a pillar as she looked into the pod. Yue on the other hand who was inside the pod was seated on the floor as she hugged her legs. She felt sorrowful and fearful at the same time. The azure haired girl did not know what these people wanted with her.

“Damn…” she said as she tried to stand up but her fatigue was getting the better of her.

“Keep quiet.” Fraus said to her coldly.

“Like I have the energy to make a racket right now” Yue replied as she sighed heavily.

“Shut up.” She said to her.

Fraus looked around her as she tried to feel the grey energy that surrounded the whole of their headquarters. She noticed that the energies were incomplete and immediately she found out that some members are out.

“Elle, please…” Yue then asked her as she pleaded.

“I told you stop calling me that!” Fraus shouted as grey spirit energy had surrounded her as she threatened her with her grey flames.

“I can feel your doubt.” The azure haired student said to her and immediately this brought a halt to Fraus’ threat.

“You’re in doubt right? I feel it in your mannerisms. You claim to feel nothing but deep down I can see your regret.” Yue said to her with a sad expression on her face.

Fraus suddenly stopped as she thought of things. Memories of her and Yue back in Treyah. They were good memories of the times when they hung out with each other. She felt that they were really true friends.

“I’m…” Fraus then uttered. “You’re right…” she then shifted to say.

Yue looked towards her friend from where she was. The pod wasn’t so much of a nuisance so in a way they could still converse with one another.

“I am confused…” the platinum-haired Sentis member said as her eyes shone a bright blue. It had a hue of grey in them. Her face had a look of sadness in them as she brushed her hair with her hands. She conjured grey spirit energy in her hands afterwards and it took shape of a rose.

“It’s pretty.” Yue then said to her. “Amidst the nothingness, something beautiful could emerge from it.” She added.

“Something’s are usually whole.” Fraus then said to her. “Vrede ‘s got a thing for these types of roses.” She thought to herself.

“Why a rose?” the azure-haired girl asked her with curiosity.

“Seiryu.” She replied to her. “He gave me the exact same flower back in Treyah during the Formal.” She added.

“Oh.” Yue replied to her.

“And Melfice.” Fraus said afterwards. “When we were in Herac, he got me one of these as well.” She added with a faint smile on her face. The Sentis member noticed that she was getting too soft but it didn’t matter to her at that time. She just wanted to reminisce at that time, the memories that she had made.

Flashback (General POV)

“The outskirts of Herac sure is pretty.” Melfice said as he walked with Elle towards a higher part of the city. The girl laughed at him because he sounded so ignorant and naïve at the same time.

“It seems to me that you haven’t really been to a major city huh?” Elle said to him with a smile on her face.

“Well I’m not really a city boy after all.” The hybrid-wielder replied to her as he ruffled his hair. “Kinda grew up on the countryside you know, before I went to Briggs.” He added.

“Same here. I’m not really that much a fan of big cities anyway.” The platinum-blonde haired girl replied to him. “The ambiance gives me a headache.” She added.

The two students from Treyah continued to walk on until they saw a hill just near the entrance of the city. It seems that the two of them have ventured out quite far from the Herac dome.

“Grass!” Melfice shouted as he lay down on hit and exhaled deeply. Elle laughed at him for doing such a silly thing.

“Yep you’re a country boy alright.” Elle said to him. She sat down beside him as the wind blew. It was actually night time as the stars in the sky shone bright. The moon on the other hand was shaped in a crescent manner.

“This feels great! A windy day with soft grass underneath me, what more could I ask for?” Melfice said with excitement.

“How about some hay?” his female companion joked.

“Whatever.” He scoffed as he gave out a small laugh.

Melfice then sat up as he looked around the vicinity. He noticed something glowing near him and went near it. The hybrid-wielder then saw Luminous white roses were situated in the area where they were at. He then picked one and faced Elle afterwards.

“Hey Elle.” He said.

“What?” the female student said as she smiled afterwards. Melfice soon handed her the white flower as he was facing away from her.

“It suits you…” he said as he handed it to her. The female took it from him and put it behind her ears.

“Thanks. Real smooth by the way.” Elle joked at him. Melfice’s cheeks slightly burst with red color and this made the girl smile.

“So you like it?” Melfice then asked her in a very shy manner.

“Yeah, I do…” Elle said to him softly with a smile on her face.

“I guess he did make me feel kind of whole.” Fraus then said out loud and Yue had heard of this.

“Seiryu?” she then asked, Fraus shook her head.

“Melfice.” The platinum-haired girl replied as she stood straight now. “Sorry, but duty calls.” She added.

Fraus walked on towards the door as she went out of the room for a while. She felt that she was being too soft and the consequences of this if Verrath ever found out that she was being lenient will be lethal.

“Damn…I have to get my act straight.” Fraus said out loud. “She’s distracting me.” She added as she walked on and tried to think of a way to maintain her focus around her.

Little did she know that this was only the beginning of the conflict in her mind and body.
