Chapter 9 – Killing Floor

Gewalt closed in as he swung his boomerang blade vertically towards Zaix. The latter evaded the attack by moving backwards and he prepared to counter the attack. The Sentis member then swung the boomerang blade horizontally afterwards and Zaix immediately parried with his gauntlets. Lightning surged around his weapons as roars of thunder could be heard from his spirit energy pulses.

Zaix moved now on the offensive but his attempt was immediately halted when Gewalt blasted him with a grey bolt of lightning. The energy blast sent him reeling and kneeling on the ground.

“Damn…” Zaix said as he clutched his chest.

“Humanity is a corruption formed through time.” Gewalt said as his eyes flared up.

“Say what you want.” The Treyah student replied as he tried to get up.

“Don’t you see yet? We are the salvation. The Sentis will pave a way to freedom in Gaia’s world.” The Sentis member said to him with an evil grin.

“Shut up.” The student retorted.

The Sentis member then let out an evil grin once more as he snapped his fingers and balls of grey lightning energy had surrounded him in an instant. The lightning energies around him fell in front of him in a single file horizontal line.

“Brute Lightning” Gewalt said as the grey lightning energies around him flashed and roared very loud.

“Two can play the lightning game.” Zaix said as he let his red lightning rage around him wildly. His eyes had a crimson color in them.

Gewalt then proceeded to blast the lightning balls of energy towards his adversary while Zaix attempted to destroy them all with his red lightning which fell from above. He then rushed towards the Sentis member and executed a three punch combo with his gauntlets. Gewalt swiftly evaded the attack. He crept up behind the gauntlet artist and let out a horizontal slash with his boomerang blade. It grazed the Treyah student but this did not stop him to be aggressive.

“Case and point.” The Sentis member said. “Your behavior as you fight fuels my strength.” He added as he executed another slash from his weapon and this had sent Zaix reeling back.

A wound opened on his torso as blood began to flow from it. He knelt back on the ground as he clutched his torso area.

“Why me…?” he mumbled softly.

“What was that?” Gewalt asked him with a sinister look on his face.

“Why the hell did you pick to fight me?!” Zaix asked. He was already getting annoyed with the face of his foe in front of him.

“For fun.” The Sentis member said to him. “And violence is strong within you.” He added.

Zaix then immediately got up and rushed towards Gewalt as his gauntlets lit up with blue lightning this time. He swung punches at him, but again the Sentis member was evading them flawlessly and this was quite a frustration for the Treyah student.

Gewalt stepped back further as grey spirit energy flowed through his hands. His eyes lit up again once more with grey energy as he let out a sinister smile.

“Tonitrua Lapsis (Fallen Thunder)” he said as a huge blast of lightning came from the palm of his hands. The surge of energy then made its way towards where the Treyah student is.

The student kept a calm demeanor as he shifted into a balanced stance with his left arm stretched out while his right arm remained calm to the side.
