You live in the shadows,
Jealous of light -
But light will scare the darkness;
And light will kill the night.
The night will carry away
All your worries and fears,
The moon will dry your eyes
And wipe away your tears.
Your shadows will protect you
From the harshness of the light,
The darkness will defend you
In your gruelling fight.
You may not notice,
Subtle as it is,
That dark is better than light -
And light is meaningless;
For the light will always dim,
It will eventually fade away;
Glass bulbs become broken,
But darkness will always stay.
