Tonight I'm cold,
But tonight I'll let myself shiver,
I'll let my teeth chatter
And I'll just feel the cold;
My heart will drop icicles
To my stomach
And slowly all the ice
Will crack,
But it won't melt,
It never melts -
It's always there,
Just some days it
Bites at my fingers and toes
More than others,
And on those days,
No amount of fluffy socks or
Gloves will make me warm again;
On those days
I just have to feel the cold
And let myself shiver,
Feel my body shudder
And my snowflake heart
Can stop for all I care.
