Don't let them know you care, no matter how much you do,
Don't let them see you think it over or show how it affects you.
Don't let them know it plagues your mind, you're just itching to be told,
Of how they're moving on in life and how they're growing old.
Don't let them know you started the fire, you were the spark to ignite,
Don't let them know it burns within, glowing day and night.
Don't let them see the poetry or the words you weave,
Don't let them know they're on your mind when you chose to leave.
