She had the skies in her eyes and an ocean in her smile,
But her mind was an earthquake and her heart was vile.
Her sun had gone down, it'd been dark for a long while,
But the moon and the stars had the power to beguile.

The constellations of her mind were more than hard to fathom,
And the tears her eyes would bleed did more than just sadden.
She could've stopped it, but she chose to let it happen,
So she wrapped her wounds in bandages of velvet and satin.
