Tell me a melody and take me away;
Play me a memory, make me stay.
Take me to the moon with your words,
Know that you're listened to, not just heard.
Play all the keys, the sharp and the flat,
I'll mess up the notes, I'll admit that.
Take the mistakes, tell a new tale,
Use the minor keys, the majors are frail;
Abused, overused, who cares for fake happiness anyway,
When you can tell a melody that makes people stay.
