It was the middle of the night. You woke up in Scorpio's arms.

"I have to do this..." You sadly mumbled to yourself and looked at Scorpio's face illuminated under the moonlight. You wanted one last look at his face as if to burn it in your memory before you left.

It pained you deeply what you were about to do but you didn't know any other way. It seemed fate was rearing its ugly head and working to pull you both apart. As you just learned recently that a group of gods in the heaven were working on hurting, or even killing Scorpio if he remained in a relationship with a human.

You thought about telling him but you knew with his rash nature he would likely do something you'd regret. And you didn't want to put anyone in danger so you thought the best solution would be to leave quietly and hope he would move on with his life.

Even if it was the hardest thing you had ever done, It was all because you loved him and because you wanted him to be safe, this was the only way. You kept telling yourself that but it didn't make it any easier.

A very sad and painful sigh escaped your lips as you freed yourself from his arms. You knew you would miss those strong, warm arms of his. You softly kissed his forehead and took one last look at his sleeping face. He looked so peaceful and happy. He looked like a man in love. You could feel your heart breaking knowing you would be the one to take away this happiness of his that he had never experienced before.

You had to tear your eyes away as if you didn't you might find yourself unable to leave.

"No. I mustn't let my heart be swayed now." You turned around and whisper, Goodbye Scorpio, my love. I will never forget you..." And with a heavy heart you walked towards the door, each step bringing you further and further away from your once happy life.

You stopped one last time and gazed towards the sleeping Scorpio. Tears had long since threatened to fall and now they flowed freely. You struggled to see him through your teary eyes. Everything was blurry just as your life had now become one major blur. You didn't know what to feel anymore.

You quickly left the mansion and ran home in the thick of the night; never once looking back.

The next day you left your apartment. You already had everything packed. You couldn't stay there. If you were doing this you had to do it properly and make sure he couldn't find you. You couldn't bear the thought of anything happening to Scorpio and him getting hurt.

"Am I really doing the right thing...?" You shook your head. This wasn't the time to be second guessing. You had to keep moving forward.

You said goodbye to your apartment and took the scheduled train and headed to your new home. Your new life. You didn't know what awaited for you there but you wished in your heart Scorpio would find happiness without you in his life and most importantly stay safe.

A month had passed since you moved away. You were still in search of a new job but each day felt dull. Void of life. Nothing was right anymore. There was a hole in your heart and nothing could fill it. You'd often sit outside on your back porch and look up at the stars and wonder if he too was looking at them. Scorpio was all you could think about. Your heart ached for him.

He was there in your dreams and when you were awake. Scorpio was everywhere and yet he was stil so far away. You wondered if you reached out would he appear before you. You tried hard not to regret your decision but this loneliness you felt was eating you away. You felt sick inside and there was only one cure. Scorpio really was everything to you and you threw it away so carelessly. Maybe you ended up being the rash one.

One day as you forced yourself to eat your dinner you heard a knock on the door. You wondered who that could be since you don't get visitors.

You were a little scared because it was so late but you cautiously opened the door and there before your eyes was the last person you had expected to see.

"Scorpio...?"

"What the freakin' hell woman?" Scorpio looked very angry. His forehead was furrowed and his nose scrunched up and his eyebrows knitted.

He forced the door open and into your home. Scorpio looked at you with confusion and grief. You thought he was really angry but it seemed more than anything he was deeply hurt.

Scorpio grabbed you by the arms and looked you in the eyes, "Why did you just leave like that? Do you know how worried I've been?!"

"I...How did you find me?" You started to tremble as you were hit by a flood of emotions hearing the anger and pain in his voice.

"Answer my question!" Scorpio exclaimed making you flinch under his tone.

"Because...I was trying to protect you." You explained what had happened and why you did what you did.

Scorpio let out a heavy breath and closed his eyes for a moment, "I see. The King told me he took care of whatever it was that made you leave but wouldn't tell me what. ...You stupid woman." You vision had gone black as he enveloped in his arms. Those warm arms you thought you'd never feel again.

"I was losing my mind not being able to see you. I couldn't understand why you left me. I...I worried I must have hurt you in someway and it was eating at me." Scorpio's voice trembled as he poured out his feelings. There was tears in his eyes as he spoke. He sounded like he had just a hard time if not harder when you left.

"Scorpio...I'm sorry..." You were overcome by regret at what you had done. You inflicted a deep pain on Scorpio. One worse than death itself. His heart had become cold and lifeless.

"Don't you dare ever do that to me again." Scorpio pulled back enough to get a good look at your face. He brought a hand to your cheek and softly caressed it like you were something delicate. You could feel his hand slightly tremble as he must have still been overcome by emotion after everything that happened.

"I understand you were trying to protect me but you should have come to me first. When I thought I might never see you again I wished that death would take me right then. You are my life, ___. Without you I'm nothing. I can only be happy if you are with me. I'd far sooner face death by some gods than ever be torn apart from you." Scorpio's eyes shook with emotion as he spoke.

At some point you had begun crying. You knew no matter how many times you apologized it wouldn't be enough. What's done is done. In your attempt to save Scorpio all you did was the opposite. All it would have resulted in is the death of you both as you pined away for one another and became dead inside.

"Never leave me again." Scorpio whispered and leant in and softly placing his lips on yours. It was a feeling you had longer for. One you thought you'd never feel again.

You cried even harder from the sensation as your heart finally found peace with itself. Your happiness had returned. It was something you would never throw away again. No matter what. You promised you would always stay by his side.

"Let's go home." Scorpio offered you his hand.

"Yes." You smiled.
