A smile comes across Eric's lips as I put the key in the lock, pushing the door open I look around to make sure no one heard. I rush over to Eric's cell and let him out, we slowly make our out of the room and then into the other room, we hide every time we hear someone coming.

It took us a while but we finally reached outside, Eric and I sneak around the side of the building and make a run for it towards the trees.

"That seemed kinda easy," Eric points out.

Now that he's said that, I realize he's right. Something about escaping seemed too easy.

"Well let's get out of here before we have time to find out why," I tell him.

We enter the woods and start climbing a tree, Eric is paling and I'm getting scared because if he falls then he's a goner. Something grabs my ankle and I freak out a little but then I realize it's Eric. I frantically grab his wrist and pull him up so he can get on my back; I may be small but I'm tough.

I make it to this frozen stream but with Eric on my back it took me a long time, putting Eric down on the snow I make sure no one has followed us; I don't think anyone has noticed we have left yet. Eric doesn't look to good and his breathing is shallow.

"Are you alright," I ask him. "You don't look too good."

"I haven't done this much exercise in two years. I haven't seen the sun in that long either," Eric tells me. "Alex kept me in that cell or in a dark room, I was never aloud outside."

"I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault. I made the stupid mistake."

"If you don't mind my asking, what did you do?"

"Lets just say that when Alex says no one messes with his family, he means it." Eric is starting to get color back into his face. "His punishments aren't exactly nice."

"That doesn't exactly answer my question."

"I had kicked his brothers ass and then had injured his parents." He doesn't look me in the eyes. "They died later from massive blood loss."

"I'm not going to judge you for what you did." Eric looks at me from under his lashes. "It was in your past and I guess that's where it's going to stay."

"I can see why the Alpha wanted you so bad. You're good at putting things behind you."

"It's the way I was brought up. My mom told me to never hold things against people, the past is the past and bringing it up is nothing that can change it."

"I think it's best if we start moving." Eric gets up and leans against the tree.

"Are you sure you'll stay warm?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well all you're wearing is a baggy shirt, pants, and shoes. It doesn't look very warm."

"I'm a wolf, I'll be warm."

"Okay. Does that mean you can change?"

"Of course it does."

Eric starts morphing into a big gray wolf, I bring my hand up to the top of his head and start stroking the rough fur there. Eric lays down in the snow and I walk over to his side, I crawl up on his back and he gets up, Eric starts running through the forest.

I hear something off into the distance and I think Eric does too, he starts picking up speed and I grip his fur tighter. Eric suddenly stops and I fly over his head and into the snow. Eric's head appears above me.

"What the hell Eric," I yell at him. He whimpers and sits down. I get up. "What's wrong?"

Eric starts whining and I start to look around, I close my eyes and take deep a breath. I can hear the slight thudding of paws.

"Time to go."

I slide back up on Eric's back and tell him where to go so we can avoid the Pack members. I can't let them catch us, not now.

Not ever.
