I wake up to pain all over my body, but the newest pain is in my neck; I rub the side of my neck and feel the mark there. I sit up and try to rub the pain out of my neck, it doesn't go away.
"I'm sorry Vexy."
I look at Alex sitting in the chair, looking at his hands. I growl at him as I remember what he did last night.
"How could you Alex!? How could you," I yell at him.
"I had had too much to drink last night and I did all sorts of stupid stuff last night." Alex finally looks up at me. "Like marking you without your permission."
"I thought you would've listened to what we had set. Together." I push the blankets off me and sit on the edge of the bed. "We had made those together and you agreed."
Alex looks at me sadly and I see bags starting to form under his eyes. I sigh and shake my head.
"Did you sleep last night?"
"What," Alex asks.
"Did you get any sleep last night?"
"Yeah."
"How much?"
"Like an hour."
"You can't run on that Alex. You should get some sleep."
"I can't. I have Alpha duties to attend to today. I will manage with one hour of sleep. I've run on less."
"That's not healthy. You need to allow your body to rest."
"But someone also has to run this pack."
"Have John do it."
"I'm not going to argue with you about this. I'll be back later."
Alex stands up and looks down at me with a sad smile, he slowly comes over to me and presses his lips to my forehead. I quickly wrap my arms around his neck and hold onto him.
"Vexy?"
"I may be mad at you but I care about your health," I tell him and look at his face. "Now you will get in this bed and spend a relaxing day with your mate."
"I have a Pack to run. I can't just put that off to the side."
I let go of Alex's neck and start playing with the sheets, I feel Alex's hands on my face and he makes me look at him.
"I would give up anything to spend a day with you Vexy," Alex kisses my forehead and looks me in the eyes again. "But you have to understand that this Pack depends on me as their Alpha to keep them safe and to make sure other Packs don't try to take us over."
"Go."
"Are you mad?"
"If I was mad you'd know."
Alex pulls away from me and leaves the room, I just sit on the bed and look out the window at the snow. It's lightly falling down and I get up and walk over to the little patio outside of Alex's room and lean against the railing, I look at the trees and smile; remembering my old life. My life in the trees above everyone else, I miss that life; I want that life back.
"Vexy?"
I spin around and look to see Alex standing in the doorway to the patio, holding some sort of flowers in one hand and a bag of candy in the other.
"I thought you had IMPORTANT Alpha duties to attend to," I snap at him while crossing my arms over my chest.
"I'm having John take care of it for today," Alex says as he walks closer to me. "I don't want you to hate me anymore."
"I never said I hated you." Alex is standing right in front of me now and hands me the flowers. "I'm just extremely mad at you."
"I don't want you to be mad at me either. I want you to be happy with me."
"Why don't you just go be the stupid Alpha of your stupid Pack."
"Vexy-"
"No. Don't 'Vexy' me Alex. You even said it yourself that your Pack depends on you."
"Please don't be like this Vex. I came back to be with you for the day." Alex cups either side of my face and rubs his nose against mine. "Please don't ruin it?"
"I'm gonna ruin it? Gee, thanks Alex for making me sound horrible."
"I'm sorry Vex. Can we go watch these sappy romance movies now and pig out on candy?"
"Are you serious? You think romance movies will make me forgive you for marking me without permission!? That's pathetic."
"Can you please forget about that Vex? I was drunk and was doing all sorts of stupid things. I was stupid to get drunk. I was just so mad that you told me no."
"And I don't like you being a jerk to me Alex. But we both can't have our ways can we?"
Alex crashes his lips to mine and I start pushing against him when I feel the tingles travel through my body, I start to cave in.
"Alex," I push against his chest. "Stop."
I push Alex off me and look at him, he just wipes at the corner of his mouth. I see the smirk trying to show up on his luscious lips.
'Stop thinking like that Vexy. You're mad at him,'my mind tells me.
I roll my eyes and walk back into Alex's room, he follows behind me. I sit on the bed and look at the flowers in my hand, they are beautiful. Purple and red and blue and yellow, they are amazing. Alex sits in the chair and looks at me kind of embarrassed, I smile down at the flowers.
"Are you happy," Alex asks. I look up at him and my smile falls from my lips. "I guess not."
"I'm happy about the flowers and your attempt to try to make me happy. But I'm mad at you," I say.
"That doesn't make sense."
"It doesn't have to make sense to you. If it makes sense to me then that's all that matters."
"So you aren't mad at me!"
Alex jumps on to the bed and tackles me into the pillows, he smiles down at me. I smile up at him. Alex tucks a strand of hair behind my ear before pressing his lips to mine, I wrap my arms his neck and tangle my fingers in his hair.
I push Alex off me and straddle his waist, he looks at me surprised. He tries talking but I crash my lips to his to keep him quiet, I don't feel like talking right now.
