We get to Alex's house to find Eric and John watching t.v., surprisingly not trying to kill each other. They don't look up though when we sit down on the couch; Alex has me in his lap.

"How was your walk Vexy," Eric asks. Alex growls at him.

"It was fine. But it got interrupted," I tell him while eyeing Alex.

"That's a shame. I remember you saying you didn't want anyone to follow you."

"I did say that, someone just chose not to listen."

"Okay stop talking about me. I feel bad about it enough already," Alex says.

"If you felt sorry about it then you wouldn't have followed me Alex," I tell Alex.

"You're my mate. I wanted to make sure you were alright."

"I can handle myself thank you very much."

Something always ruins my good mood.

I get up and head towards a back room just on the left side of the door, it's a library. Obviously Alex never comes in here because most of these books have dust on them, or by the sound of the pages, just haven't been touched in a very long time.

I go up and down the rows with intrigue, so many untouched books with unread tales that are just waiting to picked up and read. I find a book that looks interesting and crawl onto the window seat, the pillows soft and fluffed. I start reading and get absorbed into the book right away.
-----------------------------------------

I am interrupted by a loud crashing sound coming from the living room, I rush out to see what the cause is.

Of course I should have known I couldn't leave Alex and John alone with Eric, they would kill him. And that is exactly what I find, Alex and Eric going at it. I run towards them and try to get between them, but something hits me hard in the stomach and I crash into the wall by the door, something snapping makes the fighting stop. I have all eyes on me as I lay on the ground wheezing for air, Alex rushes to me quickly.

"Vexy," he says. His only response is me wheezing. "Vexy are you okay?"

"This is all your fault. I would never hurt her," Eric says.

"Get the Pack doctor," Alex yells frantically. John whips out his cell phone. "Vexy, stay with me. Stay with me please? I need you. You have to stay with me. Do you hear me? You have to stay with me. I can't lose you, I just found you."

"Pack doctor is on his way Alpha Alex. She's going to be okay. The doc will fix her up and she'll be good as new in no time," John tells Alex.

"If anything happens to her I'm going to kill you Eric." Alex looks up at Eric, I grab Alex's hand as I feel the pain of my broken spine healing itself. "What's wrong Vex?"

A scream escapes my mouth as I feel the bones clicking back together, the sound of it is horrible and I don't get how Eric or Alex can't hear it. Another bone clicking together and another scream, fire runs through my body like when I had my ribs healed; except this is worse.

There is no water to extinguish the fire, no feathers to replace the knives, no cloud to lay on to make it easier; there's nothing except the pain. I squeeze Alex's hand again as another bone clicks into it's right place.

The door opens and an older man walks in. Alex frantically informs him about what happened and the doctor gently turns me over. I feel my back exposed and another bone clicks into place.

"It looks like she broke her spine when she hit the wall," the doctor says as he touches my back. "And it's trying to heal itself back into place. Which is very painful on her part."

"What can we do to help her," Alex asks.

"Nothing. I was talking to the healers and one of them said she had treated Vexy before but painkillers weren't working. Her wolf side was burning off the medicine before it went into effect."

"I don't want her in pain. Do something."

"I can try to give her pills for the pain but I don't know if they will work Alpha."

"Well we can try."

I feel the pills in my mouth as another bone sets itself back in it's right position and then nothing. Almost as if I was going to sleep.
