The Sengoku Festival (An Oda Nobuna No Yabou fanfic)

Chapter 15

The rain had just started to pitter out of existence, around the late afternoon, when we had come to the village of Honkami and as I looked at it, I sighed in relief at what I saw all around it. The remains of the Asato clan had been wiped here as I saw two sashimon's mainly all around the small village: the Oda's and the Anno's. As I watched guards see us and began to raise alerts, I shouted to my men, "Alright! We camp here for the night!"

I watched as Joey and Noble slowly managed to make their way off the cart they had been on as the Blue-Handed and the Yellow-Handed both began to snap out orders and as Joey and Noble joined me, I looked at Katsuie as she was pale but not as pale as she could have been had I not tried to patch her up as best as I could. I had managed to take some random cloth scraps and wrap them around her cut as it had slowed the bleeding by a lot, along with making her drink whatever water was available. But as I looked at her, her eyes clothes as she tried to focus on keeping conscious, I watched as General Takechi appear as he said, "Bloody One! You made it back alive!"

"Do we have a doctor available?" I asked him as the cart came to a stop. I dismissed the ashigaru driver as I soon took the reigns.

"What happened?" asked Takechi as he then saw Katsuie within the back.

"The Asato lord ambushed her and her men and slaughtered them.. we killed him but... a lot was lost to the battle..." I said.

"Follow me then, quickly!" Takechi began to run back to the village and I snapped the reigns as the rain finally stopped but the crisis was still ongoing.

The building was located off center in the village but as I stopped the cart, an Anno ashigaru began to wrap the reigns around a nearby post as Joey, Noble, and myself grabbed Katsuie as best as we could while Takechi lead us inside of the small hut.

The hut was immaculate and tidy and had a slight smell of antiseptic. Jars of herbs and medicine was spread out across shelves as another smell came into my nose: incense. I looked around as my shoes were not off, as they normally would be, but as Taekchi called out, "Doctor!" a man appeared from the back as he saw us and immediately said, "Please! bring her here quickly!"

Myself, Joey, and Noble all managed to bring Katsuie to the man as he had a cot out and as we put her on that, he then said to us, "Leave..."

We bowed and then Joey, Noble, myself, and Takechi all left and as I walked outside, I then said to Joey and Noble, "You both go-"

I didn't get to finish the order when I heard a familiar voice say, "Bloody-Handed One?"

I looked to see Nagahide looking at me as she had a small cut on her face but otherwise looked fine and as she looked me up and down, she asked me, "I didn't expect to see you so soon... and so unexpectedly..."

"Thank the Asato for that... we took them on but they fled and then attacked General Katsuie as she was on her way here.."

"Katsuie? She is here?" asked Nagahide.

I pointed into the hut as I said, "They ambushed her forces and killed them all... nearly had her... nearly had me and my new commanders as well... thankfully, she had just enough strength to help us out and kill the last of the Asato..."

"New commanders?" asked Nagahide.

Joey and Noble both bowed as Joey said, "General Nagahide.... I am the Green Oni and my accomplice here is the Noble Ronin... we were once part of our own company but.. we sided with the Bloody handed here to.. well... keep going to say the least.."

Nagahide looked at me as she then sat down and as myself, Noble, and Joey looked at one another, she sighed as she said, "Please sit..." just as she pulled out her fan.
