21 December(Monday)

Alex's POV

It's been a quiet few days. I've been succumbed to my bed for almost seven days, and it's driving me insane. I need to get up, and live my life, but Dr Jones has warned me that bed rest is essential, and Mr Luke O' Connor has made sure that is possible. It's like he's never left my side. He's been with us since I got home from the hospital. Helping me to shower, and dress, taking care of Josh, preparing dinner. Well mostly buying, but nevertheless he's been doing it. He's been awesome, and I appreciate every bit of it. But.I just need to be me again.

Josh is at home, because school's out, and he's been with Luke almost everyday, but now it's time to get back to being mum. And it's Christmas week, so I'd like to do shopping. However Luke wouldn't allow me , so now I'm alone, and bored out of my mind, and I'm starving. I need to move so I can live this pregnancy, and Dr Jones assured me I would be able to resume normal living after a few days. So I'm going to start now. Very slowly I move my feet off the bed, and stand. Not bad. Okay. I walk toward my dresser, grab my gown, and head to the bathroom. Standing facing the mirror I already notice a few changes. And I smile. Smiling to myself seems okay, since there's no one around to wonder if I'm insane. After doing what's needed, I take a nice warm shower. When I'm done, I dress and go to the kitchen to make myself a sandwich. This is the first time in seven days that I've been in here, and I must admit it's clean. Well that's nice. I reach up to get a plate and freeze when I hear

"Alex stop!"

Turning around I see Josh and Luke holding a huge Christmas tree. Josh is smiling, but Luke has a scowl on his face. He almost drops the tree, but places it down, rushing toward me

"Baby. What are you doing? You're not suppose to be out of bed." He says looking down at me

"Luke. I'm fine. I just needed to get out, and I'm starving. By the way I feel okay." I lie, even though I hurt like hell

"Alexandra. Please. Just go sit. I'll fix you something." He scowls as if I'm a child, and that irritates me

"Luke! I'm not a kid. I can fix myself a sandwich." I yell

"Why are you yelling?" He says a little bit louder

"Why are you yelling?" I ask

"Stop it you too!" Josh interrupts us bringing us back to the present

I turn to him, and I notice his smile has disappeared

"I'm sorry baby. I didn't mean to yell." I go to him, and kiss his forehead

He hugs me tightly, just like always

"So what have you been up to?" I ask, trying to steer him away from the scene that was just played

"We got a real tree mum. See." He points to the tree lieing on the ground

"It's beautiful Josh." I turn to Luke, and just like always I find myself against him. He was behind me the whole time

I look up at him, and the scowl he had on his face a few minutes ago has has been replaced with a soft look

"Babe. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell, but I need you to be safe."

"I know Luke. I'm sorry to." I reply

"It's okay baby. Why don't you go sit. I've got pizza."

"Thank you my love." I reach up and kiss him

It was meant to just be a peck, but he draws me closer, and as usual the kiss deepens, invoking feelings of need and longing. We lose ourselves in each other until we here
