24 December ( Thursday)

Alex's POV

"Alexandra do not go anywhere. It's the festive season, and it's going to be swamped. I'll be back in a few hours." He growls

"Luke relax. Josh is with me. I'll be fine. I'm not a kid Luke." I reply

"Fuck! I'm aware of that Alexandra. I just want my wife and children safe."

"So do I Luke. Just calm down." I reply

That was how the conversation went down a few minutes ago. This guy is beyond paranoid. He's become so protective since finding out about the pregnancy. I mean. I understand where he's coming from, but I'm not going to let him tell me how to live, or what to do. I mean it's mine and Josh's first Christmas here, and I'm going to make it special for Josh. He deserves it. And I need to purchase gifts. Obviously I can't do that sitting at home. After a short drive I pull into the parking lot, and Josh and I make our way into the mall, which by the way isn't as busy as Luke assumed it would be. I look around and I'm impressed with how festive it looks. It's so amazing

"Wow mum! This is so cool." Josh raves

"Yes it is baby."

"Would you like to get a picture with Santa? I know you're all grown up, but it will be fun." I smile

For I minute I believe he might disagree, but he smiles

"I'd like that mum."

"Okay buddy. Let's go shopping, and when we're done, we'll get that picture. By the way you haven't told me what you want for Christmas."

" I don't want anything mum. I have everything I need. Mum, dad, and a baby sister on the way." He smiles cheerfully

"You're that sure that we're having a baby girl?"

"Yes I am." He laughs. I join him

After a few hours of extreme shopping, we're finally done. On our way back out, we stop at the Santa.

"Go on Josh. I'll be here." I shove him forward

He walks toward the Santa, sits on his lap, and gives a broad smile. As I stand there, I can't help but be thankful for all my blessings. When I decided to move here, I knew I was taking a chance of a life time. Not knowing what the future might hold, but now as I gaze at my smiling son. I know that, that smile was worth the move here, and I lay my hand on my belly, thinking and smiling at the other reason for being grateful. As Josh sits there, and I'm deep in thought, I feel hands go around my tummy, holding my hands. If I didn't recognise the cologne I would have been scared , but that familiar scent is all I need to be safe.

"What's the smile about baby." He whispers

"Just thinking how lucky I am. I'm grateful for everything I have. Moving here was the best thing I could have done." I reply

"Well I'm glad you did baby, because of the decision you made, I found my life partner, who happens to be the best thing that has happened to me, and who happens to be the most stubborn lady I have ever come across. But I'm madly in love with her." He says kissing my cheek

"Luke. We're in public." I say trying to move away, but he doesn't listen

"I'm aware of that Alexandra, but I don't give a fuck."

"The press Luke?" I turn to him

"Fuck the press baby." He grins

"You're to much Luke O' Connor."
