Writer's block + no wifi = no daily updates for a while. But, I have this written, and chapter 20 almost written. And I'll try to have that up later tonight.

Also, I'm working on a new OS, which I'll start posting soon. It's called The Long Way Back. When it's up, will you check it out and let me know what you think?

Beep. Beep-beep. Beep-beep. Beep-beep. I took a painful breath, before coughing, unable to breathe. I rolled onto my side, and coughed up some water and blood, before falling back, onto the bed, my ears ringing.

‘Did someone try to drown me?’ I rasped, putting a hand to my head as I felt dizzy.

‘Yeah, you did.’ A sarcastic voice that I didn’t recognise told me. My eyes flew open, and landed on a handsome, dark-haired man who I didn’t know. I froze for a second, scared. His face softened, and he looked at me from his seat.

‘You’re in the SHIELD helicarrier, you’re safe, don’t worry.’ He told me, before I frowned at him again.

‘Agent Grant Ward. We didn’t get a chance to meet before. I’m a specialist on Agent Coulson’s new team.’ He explained, and I nodded wearily. As much as I trusted Coulson, there was an underlying nervousness about this guy, which put me off. I raised an eyebrow at him, and he shrugged.

‘A specialist?’ I probed. He sighed, sitting back.

‘If someone needs taking care of, or if something needs to be stolen back, I’m the one who does it.’ He clarified. I nodded warily, before looking around the room, confused, as I coughed painfully.

‘Where is everybody? And why am I in the hospital wing?’ I asked, and he frowned at me.

‘You don’t remember?’ he asked, a flash of worry in his eyes. I rolled my eyes.

‘No, I’m asking just to keep the conversation going. I feel like I have the worst hangover ever, and so, I’m guessing that I have a concussion, so no. I don’t remember.’ I huffed. He shifted nervously in his seat, before, getting up.

‘Well… I’ll… I…’ he began, before sticking his head out the door, grabbing the first person he saw.

‘Get doctor Banner, and tell her she’s awake.’ He told the startled nurse, who glanced in at me.

‘But she’s not sup…’ she began, before Agent Ward cut her off.

‘Just go get doctor Banner.’ He told her, and she scurried off, squeaking. I frowned up at Agent Ward as he turned back to me.

‘That was rude.’ I chided him, and he sighed, running his hand through his hair.

‘That was necessary.’ He said, before walking back to his seat. I frowned up at him, and sat up, wincing when pain ripped through my whole torso. I gasped, just as Bruce ran in. He looked to Ward and glared.

‘What part of don’t let her move is so hard to understand?’ he asked, rushing to my side, gently pushing me back down onto the bed.

‘Sam, don’t try to move.’ He told me, putting his hand against my forehead to check my temperature. I frowned up at him, pushing his hand away.

‘Bruce, what the hell happened?’ I asked, he sighed, turning to check the machines beside me.

‘Exactly what you didn’t want to happen. You lost it. If Steve hadn’t pressed the button, the whole ship would have gone down. But you’ve been… unconscious for almost three weeks now.’ He told me. That was when I noticed how tired he looked. I sat up, ignoring the pain it caused me. Bruce sighed at me, annoyed, but didn’t comment.
