Sam

‘Loki?’ I called gently, as I stepped into the room, to see him stir, turning towards me. He winced as he saw me. He didn’t look too bad, a little paler, maybe, but other than that, I couldn’t see anything seriously wrong with him.

‘Samantha!’ he said, gasping at my own appearance. ‘I am completely regretful. I should not have allowed them to overpower me so…’ he began. I sighed, cutting him off, as I walked over to him, sitting in the chair beside his bed.

‘Loki, what happened?’ I asked carefully, meeting his eyes with my own, frightened gaze.

He took a breath to explain, before sighing, looking down, and frowning.

‘I… I’m not sure. I did not think…’ Loki looked at me, with childlike fear-stricken eyes. ‘Did you not say that you thought that Thanos was no longer working with them, that it was a ruse. Designed to distract us?’ he asked, looking tired.

‘Samantha, that is not the case.’ He told me, his eyes confident. He sighed and looked down, a stray strand of his hair falling free, and into his eyes.

‘Not only is Thanos working with them, but the Other is also. I do not know how I came to be there, but I do remember a struggle, inside my own mind. The Other tried and failed, but then Thanos took over my mind.’ He sighed. ‘I am sorry, they may know more than before.’ He said dejectedly.

I sighed, running a hand through my hair, and shaking my head. ‘Loki, it’s not your fault, you…’ I began, only to be interrupted as an alarm rang. Agent Ward came running into the room.

‘Agent Clarke, we need you on the bridge, now.’ He said urgently. I noticed a sense of fear in his stance, as he bounced slightly on the balls of his feet. I frowned at him, glancing at the red light flashing on the wall behind him.

‘What’s going on?’ I asked him. He glanced at Loki, obviously not trusting him, and I sighed.

‘Agent Ward, tell me what’s going on, right now. That’s an order.’ I told him, and he looked back to me, looking lost.

‘I…’ He began, before sighing. ‘Captain Rogers told me to say that it’s happened to Agents Romanoff and Rose again. I don’t quite know what… they’re trying to talk them down but…’ he never got the chance to finish his sentence as I shot past him, running straight for the elevator, Ward running to keep up with me. As we passed a trolley covered in syringes and medicines, I grabbed two, and a bottle of general anaesthetic.

‘Where are they?’ I asked, as we stepped into the elevator, ignoring the odd look Agent Ward gave me. I held the close door button and pressed the button for the control floor, keeping hold of the close door button until the doors had closed.

‘The bridge.’ He answered. I looked at him as the elevator rose, bypassing the floors in between.

‘What are they doing, exactly?’ I asked. He looked lost for a second, before answering, as I filled the syringes with the anaesthetic.

‘They have Agents Coulson and Hill at gunpoint. They want to see you.’ He paused momentarily, before speaking again. ‘That much anaesthetic could kill them. Also, how do you plan to get that close?’ he asked. I hooked the syringes into the back belt loop of my jeans, and looked at him.

‘Faith.’ I told him, ignoring the incredulous look he gave me. ‘They’re both stronger than me. If I can fight it back, so can they.’ I told him, before rushing out, and into the control room, the second the doors opened.

I slowed to a halt, seeing the delicacy of the situation before me. Nat had her arm around Maria’s neck, her Widow’s Bite primed, and ready to fire the lethal shock. She also held a gun to her own head, a sickening smile playing on her lips.  Lexi had a knife at Phil’s throat, pressing it hard against his skin, as she grinned, her gun also pressed against her temple. I glanced around the room, Steve being the closest one to them, facing towards them, his back to me.
