It felt weird to be in normal clothes again. Not just my black jeans and top, the only things I could get away with wearing in HQ. I wore denim shorts, and a flowing, floral shrug, with pinks and oranges dancing through it. I leaned against Steve’s shoulder contentedly as we flew I glanced out the window, unable to help my grin as I saw the clear, dazzling blue ocean spreading out beneath us. Steve craned his neck, and his eyes went wide, seeing the water. He took my hand, before leaning forward to towards the cockpit.

‘Are you sure you know where you’re going?’ he asked worriedly. The pilot nodded.

‘Affirmative, sir. Just following orders.’ He told him. I pulled on Steve’s hand, and grinned at him. Steve frowned at me, looking worried.

‘You do realise that we’re nowhere near New York, right? There’s something wrong Sam.’ He told me worriedly. I just grinned, as our earpieces crackled to life.

‘Calm your tits, Capsicle. There’s nothing wrong. We just got some new intel. I’m going to walk you through this, ok?’ he said, his voice calm and strong. Steve nodded, glancing around nervously as the quinjet began it’s decent.

‘Alright. Have you landed yet?’ Tony asked.

‘Yup, we have.’ I chirped, grinning at Steve.

‘Good. Ok. Now, open the door, and grab your bags.’ Tony instructed calmly. I all but jumped out of my seat, grabbing my bag, before holding my hand out to Steve. He eyed me carefully, slowly reaching out and taking my hand, as he stood, shouldering his bag. I led him to the door, putting my hand on the button, as I glanced over my shoulder, to the pilot.

‘Thank you!’ I called, to receive a thumbs up. I pressed the button, and the ramp fell away, revealing the snowy white sand, the azure sky, and the crystal clear, turquoise sea. Steve gasped in awe, and I grinned, wrapping an arm around his waist, as I pulled him with me, down, onto the soft, warm sand.

A warm breeze blew, as the sun shone down, heating the air around us to tropical temperatures.

‘Now go have fun, Capsicle.’ Tony said gently, before there was a small crack, the connection being cut, unless, of course, we needed it. The quinjet took off behind us, and I waved to the pilot as he flew away, leaving us alone, finally, on the beautiful island.

A small welcome party were making their way towards us, from a little way up the beach. Two men and three women. The men and one of the women wore khaki shorts, and bright yellow t-shirts, while the other two women, who flanked them, wore flowing grass skirts, and flower-adorned bikini tops. They both walked forward, a luau in their hands, and draped one over each of our necks.

‘Manāva!’ he boomed, opening his arms out wide. ‘Welcome to Tahiti!’ he translated, his bright smile wide and warm.

‘This way to where you are staying.’ He told us, before leading us, and the welcome party off, down the beach. The other man quickly ran forward, and picked up our bags, before waving us on.

He walked us down the beach, past a long straw marquee, strung with lights, which were probably lit at night. Inside, was a long bar, from where the barman smiled and waved, before returning to his other few customers.

We were led down a wooden walkway, raised up, over the sea, passing beautiful straw huts, suspended over the water. They brought us to the end one, and held the door open for us, smiling widely. We step inside the large, open-plan, sweeping house, and gasp. The wall in front of us curved in, turning the room we were in, into a fat crescent shape. To the left, sat the small kitchen, and a large, floor-to-ceiling window. To the right, sat a four-poster bed, dressed with crisp white linen, and decorated with rose petals, opposite, was a white sofa, sitting under a sweeping white canopy.
