Sam
Sam. Someone called, their voice light and whispy. A male voice.
Samantha, wake up. He called again, I frowned, confused, there was something weird to his voice, but I didn’t know what.
Samantha, you must wake now. He told me, and my eyes opened of their own accord. I gasped as ultra-bright lights pierced through my eyes, just as a huge headache tore through my skull. I shaded my eyes, letting them slowly get used to the light, as I frowned. Eventually, I removed my hand, and looked around the room, to see Steve, Tony, Bruce and… Loki? I frowned at him.
‘Were…. Were you? Were you just…?’ I asked, confused both by his presence, and the fact that he had just been in my head. He looked at me with concern.
‘Samantha, do you know what that rock was?’ he asked, barely giving me the chance to wake up. I frowned, my drowsiness adding to my confusion. I sat up, frowning, as I blinked against the lights.
‘W… what?’ I asked him. He sighed, and reached into his pocket, pulling out the sharp, glowing blue shard, which I had brought back from the compound. Steve shifted uncomfortably, covering his mouth with his hand nervously. I shook my head slowly.
‘It reminded me of the tesseract, but no, other than that, I…’ I trailed off, closing my eyes and running a hand through my hair as my head began to pound.
‘You said it was big?’ he asked, his voice softer. I sighed, looking up at him, and letting my hands fall to me side.
‘I literally just woke up, my head feels like it’s about to explode, and I feel horrific. Do we have to do this now?’ I asked him, almost pleading with him. Steve dropped his hand from his face, his eyes softening, as he stepped forward, sitting on the chair beside me. He took my hand in his, and brushed my hair back off my face.
‘Sam, I’m sorry, but we need to know this. It’s really important.’ He told me. I frowned, wincing slightly as pain continued to hammer through my skull. I looked from Steve to Loki, and back again, confused.
‘Why? Do you think that it’s related to the tesseract?’ I asked them, before sighing as exhaustion washed over me. Loki took a step forward.
‘There is a possibility that it is composed of the same material. There is also a possibility that it’s why you have the… abilities which you have.’ He told me. I frowned, trying to wrap my head around this, but the pain thundering through my mind.
‘I don’t… I don’t understand.’ I muttered. Steve shushed me, and kissed the top of my head.
‘We’ll explain it all another time. Just answer the questions, and then you need to rest.’ He said softly, before nodding to Loki.
‘How big?’ he asked timidly. I frowned glancing around the room.
‘About the size of the room. But it was jagged, with pieces that seemed to go through the walls.’ I told him. He nodded, before sighing.
‘Is there any chance that it was there… before?’ he asked, and I nodded.
‘There was an atrium in the middle of the original building, which had the same crater. It’s definitely been there a long time.’ I told him confidently. He nodded, before nodding to Steve. He smiled slightly at me, before turning and leaving without another word. I looked up at Steve, confused.
‘Steve, what’s going on?’ I asked him, my voice weak and timid. He sighed, moving to sit on the side of the bed, beside me, and take me in his arms. I sighed, relaxing against him.
