After traveling for so long. I make it to the outside of O'kasis. There were guards surrounding the village, almost. I duck behind a bush, wrapped around my neck was Raphael's bandana, what was wrong with me wearing it, why did Garroth get upset about it? Those questions didn't matter right now. All what mattered was that I got into O'kasis unseen and maybe, just maybe find mom and Zane. I would be so rejoined to see them again.I pull the bandana over my mouth and pulled a spare cloak out of my bag and slip on the hood. This should be good and that it's night, that's even better. I sneak behind two guards they were gossiping about a young woman who was taken hostage by the Jury of Nine recently. "Yea they said a little girl with brown eyes and purple hair was taken prisoner just because she was a Meif'wa." Said the O'kasis guard with staggering blue eyes. "Tch... That little brat deserves it." Growled an older looking guard. "Oi! What do you think about being out after curfew." They have noticed me. I tired to reply but instead I chanted unusually familiar words, like the ones from opening the Nether Portal. I don't know why it happened, it just did. Those words came so naturally to me. "Alright, I'll take to the High Priest." Responded the guard with blue eyes. "Huh!" I said, I didn't mean to do that! All what I wanted was to get a room at an Inn, that's all.
I decided to follow him, we past many familiar places from growing up here. Finally we were outside of the Ro'Meave castle. I felt my hands shaking. I was unbelievably nervous. I take a deep breath. "Thank you." I said to the guard. "Good night ma'am." He says to me. He then took off back to his original post. "This is it..." I muttered to myself. I walk up the old stone steps. I had many good memories here with Zane, Garroth, and Vylad. My hair was scattered in the warm breeze and the moon was only half that night. I lift my hand to knock. The once vibrant, ruined painted doors banged as I knocked a certain way. It was a secret between Zane and I.
The door opens. "Who's..... there?" Asks a familiar dark voice. I look up to see Zane standing in front of me. He still had his eye covered and same dark aura. "Zane!" I cried out with tears running down my cheeks. As I was about to step I tripped over the cloak, falling onto the ground my hood came off and the bandana slipped down. He was starring down at me. "Who are you...?" He asks me. He backed away. "Idiot." I mumbled as I stood up. As I made eye contact with him, his eyes widen with a surprised look in his pale blue eyes. "S-Shay." He says, with slight amusement in his rather low voice. "Oh! Zane! Where are you my little Zu-Zu!" I hear a sweet females's voice call out. "No. She can't see you. Go up to the library." He says while pushing me up a dark staircase. I nodded and walked up to the library. Behind me I heard mom and Zane talking.
I opened the door to the library. I saw two Jury of Nine member sitting at a table. From behind I saw a female with powder blue hair and a male with dark brown hair. "Yep.I know..." Says the female, I just say a glimpse of her face, she was blushing. "Katelyn...?" I blurted out loud. "Huh? Who said that?" Asks Katelyn as she stands up from the table. I was standing right behind them and she was looking over at my direction. "Down here..." I sighed. As Katelyn looked at me, a horrified look came across her face. "W-wait. Shay?" A confused look sprouted on her face.
As I stepped closer Jeffory notices me. "Oh, hello Lady Shay." Jeffory interferes, catching Katelyn's attention. "You can stop with the dumb manner thing. I was never legally adopted." I hissed. Jeffory just shakes his head, Katelyn steps in front of me. "It's really you Shay." She says smiling. She gives me a quick hug. I smile up at her.
"Well. I'm a gonna read a book." I said as I pull myself from Katelyn. "Typical..." Chuckles Katelyn.
It was so nice to see her again.
I slip into the shadows of the bookshelves. It seemed like time didn't pass, but I found myself starting the second book to Dawn Chronicles. It was my favourite series. Then I heard a book slam, around the corner. "Well, it's getting late. I better go check on my little girl Abby. Good night Lady Katelyn." Jeffory yawns as I heard a chair slide on the hard wooden floors. "Good night Shay!" He calls out to me. "Night Jeffory and Katelyn!" I responded. "Yea, yea night shorty. And good night Jeffory." Katelyn says as she leaves the library with Jeffory.
For some time it was dead silent until the doors came slamming open. "Shay! Where are you?" It was Zane. He sounded flustered. "Over here." I shouted as I stuck my hand out the middle row. "I see. You're reading again." Says Zane as he came walking over, to where I was at. He then sits down next to me on the ground. "What book is this? He asks me as he rips the book out of my hand. "HEY!" I hissed as I tried to get the book from him. He shoves his hand in my face, pushing me away and holding the book way up. After bickering wethen talked about Dawn Chronicles. Zane said he might start reading it when he has time to.
A silence then took its toll. "You know... You can stay at my place with me." Pouted Zane. "Alright. Whatever floats your goat!" I laughed.
We then shortly got to Zane's place. The exterior designing was outstanding. "Whoa... This place is outstanding." I said in awe. "I know." Zane says smugly as he walks up the steps. I follow him into his home. The inside was fairly nice. But it personally wasn't my style.
"I have some business to attend to. You can sleep on the couch because I have no extra rooms." Says Zane as he sit down at a massive dining table. "Always so exact." I mumble. "Excuse me?" He says in response. I shook my head no.
Then he went to a separate room and I followed. He had books spilled everywhere. "Thanks..." I yawned and I walked over to the couch. "Say Zane. I hear that you're High Priest." I mumbled. "Yes, I am. Now go to sleep you seem exhausted." Zane scolded me. "Night..." I said with a smirk on my face. I then lay on the firm couch and shortly drifted off to sleep.
