In the new day we stood outside the Guard Station, Garroth, Laurence, Dante, and I. It was a foggy morning and had a slight drizzle. The usually bright sun was hidden behind beautiful grey clouds.
"Lets go inside." Recommends Dante. You could tell that he was freezing cold, his skin had a purplish blue and he was shivering as well. "Lets." I agreed as I pushed past Garroth and Laurence who were chatting.
Inside was a old table with a wooden chair with a thin layer of dust covering it. Along with a jail cell that was empty. "This place is disgusting...." I hear Laurence mutter. "Yeah well. Lets start cleaning." I sighed as I moved my bangs out of my face. "See you need to trim your bangs." At this point Garroth was just nagging, again and it probably won't be the last time...
After Laurence complaining about the dust and Garroth and Dante arguing with each other I head upstairs. Upstairs was fairly small. Four doors to four rooms and a couple of places for art was on the stone walls as well. Whoever built this must have known that at least one of us could draw. I open all the doors. Each room had just enough room for a bed and a couple of boxes or even a desk if you had one to use. My favourite room was the last door, it had a bed with black bedding and no boxes inside the room. As I stepped inside I felt a connection to this room, like there was something meaningful to me about this room like I have been here before, even though the building was fairly new.
Propped on the windowsill was a small, scoffed up mirror. I stalk over to the mirror and wipe off the dust with my sleeve. For flash of a second I saw myself with long black hair and aqua blue eyes. It almost mimicked my hairstyle when I was still a child. The bangs were sloppily chopped and lose strands of hair went in every direction. Behind was another female with crimson red hair and black eyes, she was holding the girls hand and was trying to comfort her, but it seemed like she wasn't there completely, like an illusion. The female gives me a warm smile and I feel my body become fatigue.
The mirror drops out of my fingers, the frame made a enormous clashing sound as it echoed through the doorways. The chattering downstairs silenced and I felt my knees buckle below my weight. The stone was so firm and grey as I landed on the icy floors. It seemed like my vision was blurring as I saw Dante walking into the room. My ears were ringing and my head ached, like a thousands screams blasted through my eardrums.
I felt strong arms raise me up and place me on the bed. "Shay...?" The voice was gentle and soft. I look up to see Laurence, I feel him supporting my body as I leaned up against his chest. His breathe was so warm. "I'm alright." I huffed as I pulled myself off of him, trying to get the useless thoughts out of my head. I sigh and force myself onto my feet. As I stand up I see Dante and Garroth talking. "I know what I saw. A girl with crimson hair and black eyes." I overheard Dante say that. I feel my body become cold and I sit down next to Laurence. He moves over slightly and wraps a warm blanket over my shoulders. I feel uneased at his actions, it seemed like for so long that he never wanted to do anything with me. Until now.
"How are you doing?" Laurence asks me. "I'm alright." I answered as I moved myself away from him. Behind me he placed his hand on my shoulder. "Why are you pushing me away?" He asks me, his voice was cold. "Because I have no other choice but to." I snapped at him. He tried to say something, "We'll discuss this later." I hissed at him as I stood up and walked up to Garroth and Dante.
