Hello! Sorry if Lord Garte seems cruel and that is because in the actual series they have mentioned Garte has become corrupt in a bad personal way, I guess... But I hope you enjoy this book so far!

I woken to birds chirping outside. The morning sunshine was seeping through the blinds that were covering enormous windows. I remember what happened last night. I am rejoiced that I have seen Katelyn again after so long. She used to hangout with me before her Jury of Nine meetings. And also seeing Jeffory was nice as well.

As I got up I stumbled towards the kitchen. For showing appreciation I decided to cook breakfast for Zane and I. There wasn't much, but there was enough to make pancakes and eggs. Also another option, I could go down to the market to get some other foods. But I decided no.

I turn on the stove and started to mix in the ingredients for pancakes in a medium sized bowl. And when I was done mixing the ingredients I place the batter onto the pan. From behind I heard footsteps. I look over my shoulder to see Zane standing behind me, he looked irritated and crabby. "Morning Zane." I greeted as I went back to cooking. "What do you think you're doing?!" Zane snaps at me. "I'm making breakfast for once." I replied as I started to cook the eggs now. "I see that's new." Zane mutters, while sounding a little thoughtful.

When breakfast was finished cooking, I climbed up onto the countertop and pulled down two plates from the cabinets. Zane was sitting at his table doing boring paperwork. Quickly I served breakfast just for the both of us. Zane looks up from his paperwork, "Can you be a little more quiet?" He asks me. "Sure, sure." I sighed as I grabbed a simple plate and started to serve myself. For once I made eatable pancakes! So that was a plus.

I ate breakfast fairly quickly, "Why are you in a rush?". "Huh. Oh, I need to get to the Wolf Tribe." I replied as I picked up the dishes I used and placed them in the kitchen sink. "Do tell. Why do you need to get to the Wolf Tribe?" Zane asks me as he gets up from his chair. "It's none of your concern. That's all." I responded as I tired around and started to clean up my mess in the kitchen. "I can somewhat understand that..." Zane muttered. "Mhm. What was that?" I asked Zane. "Nothing. You can leave when you need to." He responded as he wandered to one of the huge windows. "Heh. Thanks Zane." I said with a smile on my face.

I finally gathered my stuff together and was now on the streets of O'kasis. It was kind of nerveraking with so many guards around. But I assumed that I could spend a day here, that's all and then head off to the Wolf Tribe by sunset. "Hello m'lady." I heard from behind, it was a man'svoice. I turned around to see a young man with short brown and gentle green eyes. "Hello!" I replied as I tried to look over the crowd of people. "Have you heard of Lord Garte and his wife Zianna will be holding a festival for the High Priest?" The gentleman asks me, he appears to be wealthy with his clothing, I wonder why he was talking to me, just a traveler. "Eh.... Sorry I haven't heard of that." I replied nervously. "Well if you have not heard I might as well introduce myself. I am Sir Skyler Edwards, the son of Paul Edwards." He introduced himself. "..... I'm Aryia." I replied shortly. "Mh. Do you have a last name?" He asks me. I could use Holt but.... I'll just go with Wanderer. "Yes, Wanderer is my last name." I said quickly. "What an interesting name. Aryia Wanderer." Skyler said, sounding slightly mused on how uncommon my name was. "It nice to meet you Skyler. But...." I started

Then a guard crossed between us, the guard went towards the direction Zane's house was at. "How rude." Snaps Skyler. "Uhhh... Wanna go see where the guard is up to?" I ask Skyler. He smirks, "Why not." He replies. Skyler and I follow the guard.

We finally made our way in front of Zane's house. "Aryia, I suppose she was just an escort." Skyler sighs. "I was kind of hoping that it would have been my fiancé..."
"Eh? Fiancé, who would that be?" I ask Skyler. "HA! Why should I tell you?" He asks me. "I don't judge out loud." I laughed. "So you still judge people." Skyler says while peering over a crowd of people who were surrounding Zane's house. "Tch... Everyone judges people but I don't say anything." I said while looking down the stone path. "True. Fine my fiancé is Blaze. He is a very handsome guard." Skyler said proudly. "Cool. Sounds like a different kind of marriage..... Not very common...." I muttered to myself.

Out of nowhere a guard comes up with Lord Garte behind him. Coward.... "People of O'kasis today is the day my eldest son Garroth Ro'Meave was declared dead." Declared Lord Garte. In the background I saw mom balling and Zane just glaring up at Lord Garte. Then a look of disgust comes across his face, "And her youngest son Vylad has been declared deceased as well." He announces bitterly. Zane looks like was going to do something. "My son would you like to say something." Lord Garte says as he turns to Zane. "Yes, my dear father there is a couple of things that I would like to say." Zane says as he walk up next to the Lord of O'kasis. He makes eye contact with me, "Skyler... There's something that I need to tell you." I whispered to him. "Yeah?" He asks me as he leans over so he could hear me. "Why did you start randomly talking to me?" That was the first thing that I needed to tell him. "Because you seem approachable then most travelers that come though here." He whispers back. "And also my name isn't Aryia it's Shay." I whispered to him. A surprised look came across his gentle features.

In the mix of things I heard Zane say something about Garroth and what he said was a complete lie. "Wait. Why did you just tell me that?" Skyler asks me. "You seem like a trustworthy person and might know a things or two about the Wolf Tribe." I respond blankly as I pointed at the pendant on his coat. "I thought no one would ever recognize this." Sighs Skyler as he runs his finger across it. "So will you help me or not?" I ask him. He had a gleam of adventure in his eyes. "I need and adventure from this boring place!" Skyler replies.

We both slipped through the crowd, I could feel Zane's harsh eyes following me. I turn around and give him a reassuring smile that I would be back, some day. Under his mask I knew he was smiling back, I guess it was a smile that he would be alright for now.

I pull out my journal.
This world is full of pain and cruelty. But after that all is bound to be a peaceful and delightful realm.

I hope Zane will be alright and I noticed that I'm still in denial that he would do such things.... What happened to him? I hope that it's not a big deal and Zane doesn't have to go through the things that I'm going through right now..
