I sat at dinner that night, in some upscale fancy overpriced small proportioned serving restaurant.
I picked at the nail polish she covered my nails in.
I felt a hand on mine, she was swatting my hand away from my nails.
Typical mother, trying to make me more girly that I ever wanted to be.
"I know you just moved in with me and I've known your mother for almost two years now."
"Please save me the details and cut to the chase, your getting hitched aren't you."
"Yes, I asked your mother on our two year anniversary almost a week ago."
"I'm happy for the both of you, just don't make me the maid of honor, I'd be a crappy one."
I had to be happy for them, but I sat there feeling unhappy as I was lonely.
Lonely, without a best friend, without a friend anymore.
Looks like I had to make one.
"We have a surprise for you after dinner!"
My mother hugged Dylan's arm and they smiled at me. I felt awkward and smiled in reply.
What could it be?
