Entry 35

I follow Luke with his hand covering my eyes, even though I swore I had them closed, climbing up what feels like 50 flights of stairs.

"Lukeeee," I whine. "my legs hurt." And with that, he picks me up bridal style and I am caught in a fit of laughter. Just as I begin to like the feeling of being held in his arms, he drops me on hard concrete and I open my eyes. "Luke, holy shit." I say breathlessly as my eyes trace the roof of the hospital. A blanket and candles decorate the concrete, putting the stars to shame. And the stars, they lit up the roof just perfectly enough where nothing was too dark to be scary but not too bright to be distracting. The view onto the town was nothing shy of breathtaking.

"Do you like it?" Luke asks as he comes up behind me and wraps his arms around my waist. Swaying with him, I smile and then turn to face him. I stare at his blue eyes for a few moments then mumble, "I love it." Avoiding what could have been a cringe worthy 'I love you' moment, I turn back around and stare at the moon.

"I'm sorry we couldn't go on our first date at target." He whispers and I frown. "I thought it would be cool to have our first date here though. Hell, half of the time we knew each other was spent here." I choke back the nostalgia that threatens to make me cry and instead, I smile.

"This is perfect." I say as he drags me to the blanket and we sit opposite of each other, our legs tangled together.

"Favorite color." He says and I tilt my head in confusion. "First date speed questions, c'mon, catch up." I laugh before answering.

  "Blue. Favorite song?"

"You're rushing right into the deep questions, aren't you?" I smile and Luke contemplates the question. "Probably 'Scream and Shout'."

"OH MY GOSH!" I cover my mouth as I laugh and Luke smiles. "There's no way in hell you actually just said that unironically."

"Will.I.Am and Britney bitch." Luke says and I continue to laugh.

  "Well can I ask why?"

"That would be another question." Luke points out as I crawl over to him and kiss him passionately on his lips, still trying not to laugh about his "favorite" song. He kisses me back and we lay on the blanket, our legs still knotted earbuds and our lips stuck together like hair to tape. Except not as annoying and gross as those.

"Well shit, I would've brought someone else if I knew this was supposed to be a make out session. Guess we gotta kiss, Michael." I hear Ashton say as I break Luke and my lips and legs apart to go hug the guys, surprised but still happy to see everyone here.

"We heard there was a party." Calum says.

"There is now that everyone's here." I say as Luke finally gets up from the blanket and wraps his arm around me. "This feels an awful lot like a going away party." I say and everyone remains quiet. "Someone should tell Michael that just 'cause he cut his hair and no one likes it, doesn't mean he has to move to Japan." The guys let out a light collective laugh but it seems forced and I frown. We all walk to the blanket and sit in a circle.
