Months Later - Graduation

Sage

Jayda jumped on my stomach before laughing. "Mommy, get up"

I felt a hard smack on my face and opened my eyes to see Danny towering above me, looking evil.

"Ha ha" He stuck out his tongue, and it was blue.

Danny didn't need sugar at all. Especially not this early in the morning. He was already too much.

"I'm going to tell daddy and you're gonna get time out" I sat up, and Jayda pulled herself up using my night shirt.

"Daddy?" Jayda questioned.

"What's wrong?" Bryson questioned, appearing in the doorway.

"Mommy, tell daddy?"

"Tell me what?"

"Not you, my dad. I was going to tell him that Danny hit me again"

Bryson looked at Danny. "What does your dad say about whoopins?"

"He said that I just need time outs and I won't get them"

"Remind me again, next week"

"Shut up" Danny jumped off of the bed and left the room.

"Micah, you don't need to be sleep anymore. We graduating today" Bryson said and smiled at me.

I heard Micah kick his crib before crying.

Bryson lifted him up and handed him to me.

"Hi Micah" I cooed and kissed him on the cheek.

He settled down and pouted before looking at Jayda.

She outstretched her hand, and Micah patted it lightly before retracting his own.

He dropped his head against me and yawned.

"My family is so beautiful, man"

Bryson walked over to me and kissed me on the lips before biting my bottom one.

"I love y'all, boo. Y'all be making me emotional and what not. Prohibere"

Stop.

-

We all stood in a circle backstage.

There were about a hundred or so graduates today, so the ceremony wouldn't take long at all.

Bryson didn't say much, and he looked nervous.

"Are you okay?" I questioned and turned his tassle before fixing his gown.

"Yeah, just wishing that my Grandma and my mom could see me graduate"

I nodded my head. "They can still see you"

"Got my babies out there waiting on us" He smirked and shoved his hand into his pocket.

"We did it" I cheered and clapped my hands.

We were graduating highschool, but this was only the beginning.

"Line up, in order, single file"

We lined up, and the music changed before we all walked out and sat down.

Bryson sat on an aisle seat, and there were two people in between us.

A few people sat in between Ace, Covonte, Keisha, and Nadia.

They all had the same last name, but were separated because of their first names.

"Could we get everyone to quiet down?" Our principal asked.

The room went silent.

"Mommy!" Jayda screamed.

People broke out in laughter, and I blushed.

Our valedictorian spoke, and I waited anxiously for them to begin calling names.

Eventually, they began.

I clapped for our friends, and soon after our own row was standing.

I found myself shaking slightly while standing below the stage.

Bryson walked backwards towards me, and rested his forehead against mine.

"You nervous, boo?" He mumbled and kissed me on my lips.

"You're making it worse"

"I'm nervous too, but we good though, yeah?" I nodded my head and Bryson got back in his place.

"Bryson Djuan Tiller"

I clapped for him as he walked across the stage before sitting down on it.

I didn't understand that because he wasn't in the top five academically, and he didn't do sports.

The people infront of me went, and I was now next.

"Sage •No Middle Name• Wyatt"

I took a deep breath before smiling and shaking a whole bunch of people's hands, including my father's, and accepting my diploma.

Bryson clapped for me, and I went to sit down in my seat before looking at him.

"I was told that you're supposed to sit in your boyfriend's seat" The girl beside me said, and gave me a friendly smile.

"Oh, uh. Okay"

I stood and moved to sit in Bryson's seat.

An hour later, the graduation was practically over.

My father made the closing remarks before going back and sitting in the front row.

I saw Camilla get up and she walked Jayda up the stairs, and Bryson stood to get Micah.

I didn't understand what was going on.

Jayda stood beside Bryson, and he approached the microphone.

He cleared his throat before speaking.

"Two years ago, I met the love of my life. My lil artist, my boo thang, my Sage. Can y'all put a spotlight on her? She gone be red in the face, but it's okay because that's normal for her"

A white spotlight shone down on me, and I became embarrassed.

"I love her and our little family with all my heart, and that's never gonna change. Nah, this ain't no proposal, but I just felt like I had to share that with y'all because she's great"

Micah cooed and laughed into the microphone.

"Nah, I'm just playing"

Bryson and Jayda both got down on one knee at the same time and they both pulled out rings.

Jayda had a mood ring in her ring box, but Bryson had the real deal.

"Mommy, will you marry daddy?"
