Bryson
"Where are you going, boo?"
It was 10:30 in the morning and she was fully dressed and had a jacket on.
"To donate my voice"
"What you mean?"
"Some people with ALS don't like the computerized or the unrealistic sound of their speech generating devices because they feel like the synthesized speech doesn't fit them or fit their personality and would rather not use the technology to communicate at all. I heard about how you can sign up and donate your voice so that someone else can have and use to communicate with their family or friends so I'm about to go to a center where I read different sentences for a few hours, eventually making all the sounds of the English language so that someone else can use my voice"
Damn.
I don't know how, but that made her even more attractive to me.
Not physically, but mentally.
That would always be more important.
"You really thoughtful, you know that?" I questioned before placing my lips on hers.
This was our third kiss, and also the first time that I had kissed her.
"Thank you, but I have to go. See you later, Bryson"
"Imma walk you down"
We walked down the stairs together, but Sage wanted to grab something out of the kitchen first.
I opened the door for her and she thanked me.
"I didn't know that I was getting breakfast and a show" Sage spoke.
I saw Charles and Camilla jumped away from each other.
"Sage-"
"I don't want to hear it" She laughed. "You two are gross. Ew"
If I had seen my parent kissing the nanny, I would have freaked the fuck out. Especially with that 10 year age difference.
"That wasn't what it looked like"
"Sure it wasn't. Did you eat anything today, Daddy?"
"Yes I did, mama Sage. The car is out front waiting for you. I told the driver to stop for food on the way"
"Okay, then. Bye!"
-
I sat down on the bench, tired.
I had lost a basketball game to a man twice my age, and it had me feeling some type of way.
"No need to reassess your life. Try harder next time" Charles gave me a pat on the back and left the gym, leaving me all alone.
I took a long sip of my blue powerade before twisting the top back on and getting up.
I needed to hit the gym.
Not now though because I was too damn tired.
The ball rolled near me and I got up, dribbling it a few times before putting it back on the rack.
I cut the light off before exiting the gym and closing the door.
I went into the kitchen to get something cold.
Ice cold
I wiped the sweat off of my forehead with the back of my hand and rubbed my hand against my shirt.
When I got to the kitchen, I saw Thomas taking some ingredients out.
No one actually called him by his first name though. It was always just Bailey.
I saw two maids at the other end of the kitchen, cleaning things.
They came once a week (but sometimes twice upon request) just to clean and afterwards they left.
I didn't know their names though.
I saw Charles walking by dressed in a blue suit with two other men and a woman behind him.
"What's going on?"
"Mr. Wyatt is hosting a meeting" Bailey spoke in a monotone voice.
"What kind of meeting?"
"I wasn't informed, Mr. Tiller, I am just a cook. You would have to ask Ms. Camilla"
I nodded before leaving him alone to go back to my room.
I picked out a plain black t shirt and a red pair of joggers before hopping in the shower.
I got out fifteen minutes later and headed to Sage's room.
She had been gone for 8 hours and was bound to be back by now.
Her door was open, so I just walked in.
She was sitting on her bed, wrapped up in the covers, looking at something.
Most likely the tv.
I entered the room fully to see that I was wrong.
She was staring at a nigga.
An ugly nigga that had made himself comfortable sitting on the edge of her dresser.
"Who this?"
"That's Genevieve's brother" Sage stated.
"You probably ain't even tell him about Gen"
"That don't explain why he sitting here on your dresser. Who are you?" I asked, looking him in the face.
"Sage, probably didn't tell you about me, but I'm-"
"Fuck you" Sage spat.
Her words shocked me more than they should have.
I expected to her to apologize, but the look on her face let me know that it wasn't happening.
She tossed the covers off of herself and got out of the bed.
"No need to be harsh, princess. I was only explaining"
"There isn't shit to explain. Let me find out that you explained and we'll see what happens"
"I see that your attitude is still just like your fathers"
"Would you like me to pass on the message?" Sage sat back down on the corner of her bed.
Security came into the room and escorted him out.
They started to push me out too, but I had to let them know.
"I'm good. I don't need to leave" I tried to walk around them, but they wouldn't let me.
The guards looked at Sage for confirmation and she shook her head yes.
"He leaves too"
