I was born in a car on this day lots of years ago. . .

"Baby put your arms around me, tell me I'm a problem. Know I'm not the girl you thought you knew and that you wanted. Underneath the pretty face is something complicated. I come with a side of trouble, but I know that's why you're staying because
You're. No. An-gel. Ei-theeer, baby"I looked down at the paint that managed to get on my arms.
"Oops" I flicked most of it onto the plastic sheet that covered my floor.
I dipped my paintbrush into the paint and got as close to the wall as I possibly could.
There was no room for error.
Well, there was, but I wasn't going to allow it.
My brush slowly trailed down the side of the building.
It took probably 45 seconds for me just to cover an inch of space.
Time consuming, but worth it.
There was a knock on my door.
"Come in"
My father peeked his head into the room.
"Are you almost ready, princess?"
"Ready to work in my sketchbook again, yes"
"I see that you've made quite the mess" He chuckled, looking at my arms.
They were covered a mixture of pastel and paint.
I had been going back and fourth from my sketchbook to my wall all morning because I couldn't decide.
"Get dressed, we'll all be downstairs waiting for you"
"Are we going out to eat breakfast?"
"No, but we can stop on the way if you're hungry"
"Dad, where are we going? You're not telling me anything, and it's frustrating"
"Today, I give my speech at Detroit City High. I thought that you would accompany me"

I sat down on the stage and played with my hands.
I felt like I was sitting on a pedestal and half Detroit was staring at me.
Security surrounded myself and Camilla who held Danny and also my father who was standing at the podium.
This 'ceremony' as they called it would begin in a few moments.
I glanced at the front of the crowd and saw a group of students wave at me like we were friends.
It was the same group of students that had insulted me on my first day.
I averted my eyes elsewhere and they landed on Covonte.
'You ugly' He mouthed, making me laugh.
My father looked back at me, making my face go red. He chuckled and turned back around.
"Good afternoon" He spoke into the microphone. "Some of you may recognize me as the CEO of general motors"
The crowd broke out into a loud chatter, and my father waited until they were done.
"Many of you may not know this, but I went to this school as a kid and my experience here was something beyond words" He cleared his throat. "Today, I'm here on the account of my daughter Sage"
He called me out on purpose. Just to embarrass me.
Daniel tapped my leg and looked up at me, outstretching his arms.
I took him from Camilla and sat him on my lap.
He then reached his arms out for Camilla and we both shared a laugh before I handed her back.
He reached for me again, and I took him.
"You're gonna have to decide, Emerson"
"Ahhhh. Dada"
"I meant between us" I flicked my finger against his lip, making him laugh.
"Mah- mah, Dada?" He looked between the two of us.
I shook my head no and Daniel screamed and made a big fuss.
"Don't be a crybaby" I mumbled, while rubbing his back.
"Miss Wyatt" Camilla tapped my leg, breaking my focus away from Daniel.
"Yes?"
"Your father wants you"
I looked up and my face turned red again.
My father had his arm outstretched for me and I slowly stood, walking to his side.
"This is my crybaby" He chuckled. "And this is my son Daniel"
"Dad, stop"
"She doesn't like the spotlight, but it's my job to embarrass her. Sage, where are your friends?"
"No"
"Sage's friends, come on stage"
"I don't have any friends"
"Sure you do. Nadia, Ace, Covonte, and Keisha where are you?"
This didn't even feel real.
How did he know their names?
They were all directed to the stage and were soon standing beside me.
"I would personally like to thank you all for making my daughter happy" He handed them all envelopes off the podium and they were guided to newly placed chairs on the stage.
I handed Daniel back to Camilla.
"Hey, guys"
"God blessin' all the trap figures"
"Sage told me that she would like for me to donate $300,000 to this school, and at first I was curious about her motives, - then I had to remember how big my daughters heart is and thought YOLO"
Oh god.
"She's probably going to be more excited about all of this than you guys-" He chuckled.
I raised my eyebrow.
"I, Charles Wyatt have decided to donate three million dollars to Detroit City High School"
